hey quilt people. i mean this with the best of intentions and i know it might come off as dickish (hello heretofore unknown adult autism) but like. i don’t understand the utility of quilts.
i understand them from an artistic perspective. i understand them from a maker perspective. i don’t understand them as a useful form of blanket. they’re always flat and stiff and not very good. do you mostly use them as art pieces? wall hangings? table runners? decorative only? pls explain, notes or dms absolutely welcome. my mom quilted for a while, i mainly knit but have dipped into cross stitch/embroidery, spinning, some sewing and i’d like to understand why quilting is a fairly popular hobby.
So how do you make quilt squares. Square. When I cut them, no matter how precise I am, they ALWAYS come out lopsided.
