Oh boy, sanji and usopp related questions, i love these!

It genuinely started as them being my favorite characters, so I often got really happy seeing them together as just they are. None of the sanji pairings personally connected with me (projecting my aroaceism to him) so I approached sanuso the same way, I think it took convincing from a friend who's a fan of them that made me break a bit of my shell.

The thing that drew me in is their friendship actually! I know respective characters have other more popular dynamics w other characters (sanji w zoro & usopp w nami), but Sanji being apart of the Monster Trio while Usopp being apart of the coward trio is what clicks to me. These two people who come from different spectrums are able to wrap their shoulders around one another so casually? It's so endearing!

Im so particular about their casual closeness and bickering in canon so that's why you'd often see me point that out! It's like the make or break for me when I read fics of them.

Romance wise, I think it's funny to percieve them as this person who's full of pride and bravado but when confronted with their feelings they start to clamp up and get shy ;; plus I'm so sucker for Sanji being a bit kinder to Usopp in canon, a lot of instances could be thrashing usopp around, but he simply doesn't (Not saying he doesn't at all, but he does treat Usopp differently y'know)

As for the second question, the reason I opened this account is because I wanted to share my Pokemon Mystery Dungeon OCs and other interests! But then I abandoned for 2 years and came back with a One Piece fixation LMAO (I still have them, I just tend to share it with my circle of friends)

spare some sanuso headcanons?

oh wow! i'm not usually a "have headcanons ready at any time" guy since I write them as it comes, BUT!

My main headcanon for them is that they have a secret not platonic, not romantic, kinda queerplatonic third thing, I see Sanji as aroace and cupioromantic (short version is cause I relate to him, but long version is another whole can of worms I can spill if ones curious) and usopp as arospec. That's what I tend to have in mind when I draw them, but people are free to interpret it as whatever!!

I see them getting together once the story ends-ish, a lot of their dynamic to me is both of them dancing between the definition of their dynamic, before they're comfortable with their identity and have at ye.

Sanji and Usopp are both creatives! Sanji likes arranging his dishes in an artistic manner and usopp commenting how the this could look interesting if he adjusted the composition more, sanji gets mad at first, but goes wait, no, he has a point! I like to think Usopp's the one to critique his food due to his insight !

I have more thoughts about them, but most of it are moreso musings or a reading on their dynamic rather than a head canon. I'll share some from my twitter when I feel like it haha. They're just the type of dynamic I don't mind platonically or romantically.

oh thats awesome anon! im glad you can find a different kind of appreciation for their dynamic! :D not sure you'll see this but gentle reminder, i personally avoid describing their dynamic (& strawhats by extension) as brotherly bcs i feel it flattens their friendship by giving them familial roles (this is mostly a nitpick so dont worry, ty for using the word platonic too tho!!)

sanji and usopps dynamic is a big passion for me to explore and analyze, so im really happy they get any form of positive platonic or romantic acknowledgement...
