Snapdragons are called "Lion's mouth" in Italian. Bocca di leone. I don't really see a dragon or a lion, do you? Antirrhinum majus. This flower is from one of 50 small plants that I grew from tiny seeds, sown last spring. I never knew they were perennial until the plants I have here survived the winter. This dark-leaved variety is called 'Black Prince'.
