Male anglerfish, diminutive in size and abilities in comparison to their female counterparts, must attach to a female in order to survive, inevitably fusing themselves to her and loosing all autonomy. (x)
A male anglerfish unable to find a female mate in the vast depths of ocean, is doomed to languish and die, alone in the dark. (x)
So much smaller and unrecognizable, this little lump on its female counterpart was not identified as a member of the species until nearly a century after the female. (x)
