Granddaughters of Queen Victoria
Queen Victoria had 22 granddaughters, one died in childhood, and the rest lived past the age of 35. Among her numerous granddaughters were consorts to Monarchs in Europe, including Queen Maud of Norway, Queen Sophie of Greece, Empress Alexandra Feodorovna of Russia, Queen Marie of Romania, and Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain. Others included Crown Princess Margaret of Sweden, Queen-Elect Margaret of Finland, and Victoria, Marchioness of Milford Haven (the grandmother of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, thus the great-grandmother of King Charles III).
Due to these intermarriages in other Royal Houses in Europe, Queen Victoria earned the nickname "Grandmother of Europe".
