It's not from anything in particular! I was just going for the vague idea of running through time/iterations of the story, so the outfits in the first panel are mythic era Greek, then more-or-less accurate to the musical, then modern-ish. Modern Orpheus's shirt is Coldplay merch because I thought it'd be funny.

you are in no way a shitty writer. ik you feel like that and also know your stories are good, but they are fucking amazing. About-Face? i can tell each sentence has a purpose and they way you bring in so much knowledge in it (all of the music and marching band stuff, plus rachel's jewish roots to help her realize something; genius). your metaphors and whole style is beautiful. gaining traction is hard, even if you've been writing for years but i hate that it gets you down (though it is totally valid). just know that the people who do read your fanfics think your stories are spectacular and unique, are excited to read anything you create, and absolutely envy your way with words and your ability to just know what you're doing and where you're going. thank you so much for everything

I only feel shitty when certain things pop up in fandom that are exclusionary and only highlight what’s “popular”, the same authors/stories over and over again. Especially claiming some are “better” than others. We’ve been extremely fortunate to have so many super talented writers in the klaine fandom over the years, and the stories are so varied that it’s impossible to name so few as “worthy” of the highest praise and of being read and shared. It does a lot of damage, intended or not. I specifically created The Lima Bean to combat these types of situations and to highlight all fic authors regardless of perceived greatness or popularity. Fandom should be fun and accepting for all writers and creators without making them feel like they need to compete.

I played along last year, but I will not be doing so this year. And, yes, I will continue to be vocal about this. Anyone who wants to unfollow or hate me for this, go right on ahead.

I’m still employed and have a place to live and food to eat, so I’m okay. But that’s about as far as it goes. Can’t really lower my expectations for life any further.

I am still debating whether or not to give G.L.O.W. a try, but Anne with an E is on my list, so thank you so much for reminding me! I grew up reading the Anne of Green Gables books, so I’m very excited to watch the new adaptation. :D

it might seem petty, but I'm gonna be petty about it. I'm getting annoyed by the notifications now, because it wasn't a fucking fandom post, which is why I didn't tag it as such. 😠 seriously, are y'all "95%" and "same"ers getting married too??? maybe I'm just pissed because I'm been working nonstop on this shit and took a break just to point out one thing I was doing. no, I said 90%. it's fucking 90%. stop. Klaine’s involvement is kind of a given and very much inevitable as I mentioned in the first post. :) They’ll probably be the common thread throughout the challenge.

what!? that story is perfect the way it is! if they want 'more' they should do what I did... just re-read the story and choose different options to progress the story. it keeps it fresh and unpredictable. it was such a cool concept and I think it worked really well. A+

that’s what I said when I replied to the comment -- and apparently they had only read one option/storyline before commenting. :/ the reader commented without fully thinking it through. I just wish people would be more thoughtful and realize that there are people behind every single word of fic they read and devour for free.
