Updated QY Doodles & Drabbles Exchange schedule!

Hello, thank you all for your patience and your input! The Qi Ye Doodles & Drabbles Exchange will run this summer (June through July), with a very slightly adjusted timeline from the original. The guide and AO3 are updated with new dates!

Sign-ups for Qi Ye Doodles & Drabbles Exchange are now closed! Matches will go out by June 21, so if you've signed up, you'll get an email from AO3 telling you about your match. Feel free to ask me any questions (here or via Tumblr) about any part of the exchange!

If you didn't sign up but might be interested in making something anyway, there will be an opportunity for treats! Once participants' matches have gone out, all requests will be made visible, and anyone will be welcome to create an additional treat (following the rules of the exchange) for anyone who has signed up!

Sign-Up Guide

Sign-ups for the Qi Ye Doodles & Drabbles exchange open today! Since we're running sign-ups through AO3 and I know not everyone has participated in an exchange that has sign-ups on AO3, here is a quick post to hopefully give you some idea of how sign-ups work.

When you go to the AO3 page for the exchange, you'll see a button under the name of the exchange that says "Sign Up." When you click that button, you'll be taken to a new page with the sign-up form! There is some info at the top about how to fill out the form, which I will also include here, just so it's even easier to find:

Characters — You must request at least one character in your sign up form. Up to 10 character requests are allowed. We also have an “any” option if you have no preference on what characters appear in your gift. If a character from Qi Ye that you want to request isn't available, contact one of the exchange's social media accounts so I can add it! Relationships — Romantic and platonic. Ships are optional, but you may request up to 10 in your sign up form. “Any” is also an option if you have no ship preferences. If a relationship from Qi Ye that you want to request isn't available in the form, you may contact the exchange account so I can add it, or you can suggest it as a prompt for your recipient after requesting the characters involved! Prompts — There will be space to include prompts, tropes, or other things you would like to see in your gift. This helps your creator make something you’d like. Please keep in mind that the gift you may be receiving could be art when creating your prompts! DNWs — Do Not Wants. In the prompt space, you are encouraged to include things you don’t want to see in your gift, such as specific tropes. The mods cannot enforce any DNWs that are not listed in your original prompt.

The next thing you'll see is the boxes to fill in for your request! It will look like this:

You can add up to 10 characters and you must add at least 1 and you can also choose "Any". You can add up to 10 relationships (you can also choose "Any" here), but you don't have to! Both of these require you to pick existing character and relationship tags, which is why if you want to request someone else, you'll need to ask me to add it! If you click the buttons that say "List 28 Characters" or "List 37 Relationships," you'll see a page of all the existing options for those tags.

In the box, you can add your DNWs (highly encouraged, since this is the only way the person you're matched with will know if there are things you want to be off-limits) and prompts (also encouraged—have fun with them!).

Once you're done with your requests, you'll scroll down to offers, which will look very similar, but without a box for DNWs and prompts! You have to choose at least 3 characters and no more then 10 (or you can pick "Any" again), and choosing relationships is optional, but you can pick up to 10 if you want.

When you've filled out both offers and requests, hit the Submit button at the bottom and you'll be good to go! Because we have the option to make treats for other people, your request should be visible once you submit it, which is also a good way to double-check that the form worked.
