Currently Listening: The Martian by Andy Weir, narrated by R.C. Bray
This is my absolute favourite audiobook, and one I turn back to time after time when I need an audiobook to listen to. I love the characterization of Mark Watney, and I love how R.C. Bray brings him to life. Whenever I need a chuckle, this book does it!

Galaxy's Edge series by Jason Anspach and Nick Cole
I've been on a real sci-fi kick lately.
Theres several more books in this series and what looks to be spin offs. Those two pictures are actually the first four books.
I enjoyed the first book and really enjoyed the second book. The third was ok but the fourth has almost too much going on to really get into. I'm gonna try the fifth and sixth book and let my enjoyment or lack thereof decide if I finish the series.
But a few of the spin offs follow a character I really liked from book two. So I may give those a try yet.
Y'all. It pains me that you can only find Wil Wheaton narrating the martian anymore. I grew up with it as R.C. Bray and just whyyyyyyyy. R.C. Bray put some gruff into it and it really sounded like he was tired of the world. Wil just has too much hope to his voice you know? Not to say I don't love Wil Wheaton as a voice actor. He's just not Mark Watney. In the end I love both narrators but don't like the change. Maybe y'all Internet folk care about the narrator more than my does.

So RC Bray won an award for narrating the audiobook for The Martian and then somebody decided it would be a good idea to have Will Wheaton re-record it?? And now the version by RC Bray is unavailable to be purchased anywhere on the entire goddamn Internet????
That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of. Bray is an amazing narrator and Will wheaten sucks. (I know he’s on this website, I don’t care, he’s not a good audiobook narrator. )
