R.O.N.N. - 1-2-3-4 (Sounds R Us Recordings)

Ron Carroll aka R.O.N.N is back at SRUR with another gem of a track "1-2-3-4" which is backed up with quality remixes. Ron is a Chicago based writer, producer, singer and well respected DJ. He is known on the global music circuit and has collaborated with many of the world’s top DJ's and producers such as Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Bob Sinclair, David Guetta, and Axwell to name a few. Since singing in his church choir at a young age Ron was destined to make a mark on the music industry. He started to spin in Chicago's Southside in the Eighties and found himself opening for DJ's like Lil Louis, Mike Dunn and Ron Hardy. Ron was introduced to the European house music scene in 2000 when he was asked to write something for the band Super Funk and the result was "Lucky Star" which went global with over 3 Million sales. Ron has been producing, remixing, and contributing vocals on a wide variety of projects notably co-writing "When Love Takes Over" with David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. When Ron is not working in the studio he's performing at some of the biggest electronic dance music events in the world including Loveland Festival in Amsterdam, Sensation Events (South America), Ibiza and top Clubs throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and Middle East. Ron is also launching his production & events company One Entertainment Group and his record company Electricity.

The original EDP mix intros with classic kick and offset percussion combo with a bassline teasing its way up through the frequencies and blasting into a full on electronic techno fuelled monster. Sharp slicing synths come through and on the break we get treated to an absolute massive build up before pounding back into a solid groove, the 1-2-3-4 vocal adds a fresh approach with a few other nifty vocal samples in the background and for those of you who would like no vocal then there is an Instrumental Mix for your pleasure, top stuff!

First up on remix duty is SRUR competition winner Aaron Kwiatek and his Winning Remix. Aaron hails from Ron's own backyard, Chicago, Illinois and has seen a release on JQM Recordings. A hotly contested competition took place with the best being whittled down to just a few and Aaron take top spot, the winning prize was your remix being released on the label and here we are. This remix takes on a darker approach with a heavier kick and lots more synth work with expert modulations and a deep deep bass. Minimal use of the vocal sits very well here and only enhances the darker edge. This is one of those techno tracks that give and endless feeling and one that will be on a lot of playlists, well done to Aaron.

Fresh from his SRUR debut "Words With Enemies" is Vancouver based DJ and producer James Hopkins with his remix. The track intros with a thick, chunky, pounding kick and bass combo with subtle percussion waiting in the wings. Fantastic reverbs on the vocals add depth to this and the percs create a strong steady rhythm. An enduring track full of energy with the odd break to come up for air, absolute stomper!

Based in Germany and regular at SRUR Harun Karabulut delivers a solid full on high octane techno remix. Sharp hats, chunky kicks and a never ending synth pad make up for a quality intro with a throbbing bass making an appearance soon after. On the break we are treated to very nifty synth play with the vocal samples coming through. Another banging tune for any floor in any part of the world.
