HIIII regarding your cryptid wild post is it fine if i save it to my fic ideas? Because it’s a really cool concept and I might touch back on it later :3
Of course it is!!! And please, do let me know if you post anything, I’d love to read it! (And I’m also making a fic myself huhuhu)
(but seriously there's so many pages its gonna take so long but its even more fun because i like the repeated motion! :D just a lot of printing though lol)
I am so ridiculously excited it’s unreal. I’ve told my parents about this. They are excited.
Sorry about your printer tho! Yeaaaaaah there’s a lot. The AU is on something like 145k words right now, which is insane to me. When did I write all of this lmaooo
So, here we go... RANT TIME! THANK YOU!
1. There are many different types of bows and even different subcategories! I have three different bows in my house. A crossbow, a long bow, and a compound bow.
2. Compound bows have multiple strings, but only one is actually used.
3. Compound bows have different 'weights.' The 'weight' is how much power will be behind the arrow when it is shot.
4. Putting the arrow on the bowstring is called nocking the arrow!
5. The feathers on the end of the arrow near the nock are called fletchings. There is always one fletching that is a different color than the others. This fletching is used to determine which way to nock the arrow. You always want the one fletching with the odd color to be facing away from the bowstring. If it is facing toward the bowstring, it could be damaged, lose momentum, etc.
6. When you pull the bowstring back and release without an arrow on it, it's called dry firing the bow. This is actually really bad for the bow as it could break it if done enough or mess with the string and it might not shoot right.
7. Arm guards are put on the arm holding the bow to prevent the bowstring or arrow from hurting the arm.
8. Some archers close one eye when shooting to help them aim. Personally, I find this very helpful.
9. Using a different bow can change how you aim. Even different arrows can change how you aim.
10. You know those fake plastic bow and arrow sets you can buy from a convenience store? Yeah, those are awful.
FUN STORY TIME:
So, the other day when I was practicing archery, my arrows were bouncing off my target. (I have a really bad target, ok? /gen) One of my arrows missed the target and hit the tree behind it. It stuck in the bark of the tree. I mean the entire tip of the arrow was in the tree. That's 1-2 centimeters. (I am not checking this right now)
