R3FX True Grit Overdrive
With single coils: amazing! The clarity of the single coil guitar is still there, but it has a little "hair". It is punchy and percussive, and has just the right amount of dirt to let you know it means business.
With P90s: These are my favorite pickups to use with the True Grit! The True Grit brought out what I love most about P90s, which is the retained clarity with a beautiful crunch. Tone-wise, I was able to dial in AC/DC type gain all the way up through modern rock. The True Grit added some fantastic crunch and really brought out the harmonics of the guitar.
With humbuckers: I will say this — the True Grit loves humbuckers! It added the top end I like that makes those higher strings really sparkle, and retained the string separation and clarity that a lot of overdrive pedals mush up. Overall I got a really rich sound that remained organic and never processed sounding.
