Welcome to... the Regulus Black Fest 2020!

Yay, it’s here! We’re ready to give our favourite side-character all the love and appreciation, and we hope so are you! 

The Facts:

Prompting:  Friday, the 17th, until Sunday, the 26th of January.

You can prompt without creating - but we’re eager for both fics and art of any pairing, non-pairing, and rating!

Claiming: Opens on the 31th of January, and will stay open until the end.

Submissions due: 27th of March, 11.59 pm UTC

Posting starts: 10th of April, with one or two works a day. Authors and Artists will stay anonymous until every work is posted. 

Each prompt can be claimed once for fic, and once for art. Claiming is first come, first serve.

You can claim one prompt, but if you finish early, you’re welcome to claim another one! 

There will be a Discord Server for participants

The Rules:

Stories must be at least 500 words. There is no maximum wordcount.

Each Story must be complete. You can not submit a WIP. It also can’t be part of an ongoing series - if you want to continue your story in the future, that’s up to you, but for the fest there needs to be a proper ending.

We advise to get a beta, but it’s not a must. If you don’t know where to find a beta, you can ask us and we will try to set you up with someone!

Art can be any form or medium, but should be equivalent to at least 500 words. Artwork files should be at least 640x480 pixels, and scans of physical artworks should be clean and clear.

All works must be posted to the AO3-Collection we will send you. The collection will be moderated, and the works released by us. If you don’t know how to do this, feel free to ask us.

Works will be anonymous, and the authors/artists revealed after every work is posted, to give everyone an equal chance at recognition. This means that we ask you to keep your prompt a secret!

Last but not least…

Once you claim a prompt, we will send you a confirmation, together with an Invite link to a Discord Server for the fest you’re welcome to join!

As exciting as it is, we only have one more day until the deadline is upon us! The deadline is Thursday night, on July 31st at 11:59 PM US Eastern Time!

A few notes:

please see our rules document for posting guidelines, but also feel free to ask questions either here, on the discord, or via email!

please ensure your works submitted to the collection are complete(†) and not drafts

works do not need to be final drafts at this point (may be posted without beta reading), but should still be complete(†) stories without any placeholder text

if you would like to claim a second prompt, please contact us!

please contact us if you need any kind of help or extension!

(†) - multichaptered works are allowed, but should be submitted in full to the mod email - [email protected] - prior to posting so that we can determine where your work fits on the posting schedule. multichaptered works not sent to the mod email will not be approved until we can validate that it is, in fact, complete.

and a reminder - removing works from the collection is grounds for a ban, so please keep your works in the collection (even as it is unrevealed or anonymous) indefinitely. once creators are revealed, you may add it to other collections.

we will be sending out a schedule to all participants who successfully submit a work, so that you know when to redate your works!

I thought I'd know the fest fanfiction authors to two works but they wre written by canterbell_kale and regulus_stan. Who are these two? I never heard of neither 🤔 You think they're on tumblr? I don't enjy oc/canon pairings but I enoyed yours. You're a great writer.

Yeah, I don't know. Tbh, I also thought I had an idea about who wrote We Don't Die Like Heroes, but I don't recognize the username either. If you find them on tumblr, lmk, I really enjoyed that fic.
