Who: Bellatrix & Rabastan ( @strangerthanfiction )
When: Tuesday 22nd January 1980
Where: Rabastan’s flat, Manchester.
Bellatrix had been in Manchester for business with Antonin and she had spent a good deal of the morning flying from York to Manchester. Even after investing in the best broomstick that money could buy at the moment, the travelling was still killer. At least with the broomstick she didn’t have to use a filthy Ministry portkey and justify why she must travel to Manchester, and it gave her plenty of time to think. She’d been considering all sorts of things, but now she was thinking mostly about her husband...or lack thereof, at present.
The meeting with Antonin had left Bellatrix wanting to bang her head against a wall, and the last thing that she wanted was to hop onto the broomstick and head back to the manor. Manchester was safe territory, but there was family here. The only other person in the world who might feel Rodolphus’ absence as keenly as she did. She understood how important his mission was, but the loss of her closest (only) friend was felt more keenly now after the events of the memorial.
Confidence had never been an issue for Bellatrix, and she rapped on Rabastan’s door with purpose. There was no hesitation - he was her brother-in-law, after all. If he chose to shut the door, Bellatrix knew her magic was more powerful than his; she could force her way in. As the door crept open, Bellatrix lifted a bottle of firewhiskey that she’d bought on her way over. “Can I come in? I was in the area and I’m was hoping for some company before I head back to the manor.”
