they did not realize she was just a baby.

and i didn’t realize she was lady lovely locks.

now she is twice that age, and every bit as sweet. 💜🖤💜

Hey!!

Idk if there is a section of tumblr for rabbit owners but if there is i hope this reaches the right people/group!

My uncle has rabbits (breeds them, i dont nessesarly condone it but theres really nothing i can do about it right at this moment, except for giving them the best life that i can), and since he has a lot of horrible cronic pain + a lack of oxygen, me and my grandma take care of them most of the time.

But the thing is, my grandma is getting a really big surgery soon, on her ankle. She had one last year, but the componets didnt heal with her legs, and they need to try again, along with fixing some osteoperosis on her knee of the same side.

Since she won't be able to do as much, i'm really wanting to step up and help, but by then i'll have to get ready for finals, as well as preparing for next year (planning to do some big things).

Can ya'll give me advice on how to juggle caring for these rabbits, and my other life activities?

Sorry if this sounds a bit stupid, but i could really use the help.

having a rabbit feels like raising a cat or a dog that runs on alien software.

there was definitely an adjustment when I first adopted my rabbit phyllis.

at first she was very docile, but as she felt safer she would defend her territory and bite and get very mean.

then i realized she was just traumatized because the people who abandoned her were assholes.

phyllis loves doing her buffalo impression — this is a full mane event, so buckle the fuck up!

does this rabbit have eyes? theoretically yes. {actually ik she has eyes, i fell in love with them on petfinder!} she was abandoned at the park by assholes, and beat those 90% “death within 24 hours of abandonment” odds. we are pretty good friends now — and holy shit is she smart.

before her first haircut… pre–disastrous mullet of summer 2025. (We both liked it - she could see, and it was punk af.) maximum fuzzface achieved.

it’s surprising to some peeps that bunny behavior is usually somewhere between cat attitude, dog affection, and space weirdness.

also prey animals have space weirdness :)

i can tell when she’s starting to get sick of people or tired of the situation in general. sometimes she just needs a few seconds of her own time and when she starts getting grumpy and avoidant it’s best to back off and let her have space.
