#rabbit problems

Poor Delilah’s face is steadily getting ever more bald 😭 she needs a bunny hubby to clean her leaky tear ducts. I do my best to keep her face clean with some Opticare but it doesn’t matter, I try to loosen the hardened fur that’s been glued together by her eye discharge as gently as possible and it still results in a lot of it falling out.

Bunny tears are quite acidic, you see—I guess when Lahi was cleaning her face for her all day it was fine, but now with just me the tears have time to sit on the fur and degrade it. The bare skin is starting to look pretty red and irritated too 😞

I did my laudry today and I swear the lint trap was 90% rabbit hair and hay 😓

The hardest part of working a rescue might just be the customer relations side. There are a lot of questions to be answered and there is a lot of dumb out in the world. 

Also, if your rabbit hasn’t eaten YOU NEED TO SEE A VET!!!! GI STASIS IS NOT A JOKE!

I have a -sort of- nasty habit of unconsciously adopting my roommates pets. I.e. I somehow convince the animals to like me more and thus spend more time and be more affectionate towards me instead of their real parents. Sometimes this uncanny ability backfires...

At least I get to keep my Pyrrha shirt.

I'm in a war of attrition with the rabbit colony under our neighborhood lawns. This is the second time they've gotten into my little collection of extra sprouts that I'm gifting to my mom and a friend of mine. Guess it's time to suck it up and buy one of those shelves with a greenhouse covering so that what I salvaged is out of the reach of little buckteeth 🤬

Feeling petty and awful today, cuz I spend hours/days working on things for an all but silent fandom, and it barely makes a ripple. I'm used to screaming into the void, but it would be nice to think someone likes my work enough to share with others. Sometimes I feel like I'm just a placeholder for someone better that will eventually come along and sweep me back under the rug where I apparently belong.
