i taught myself to cook in the last week and definitly suggest starting small, lol. are you burning things because you’re leaving them on for too long or because your heat is too high?

tbh i just suck at cooking in various ways 😩 i think one factor im living in a new place w/ electric coil burners (instead of the flat electric ones at my house) and i feel like it heats up more/faster :///

My appendix ruptured this last semester and while all my profs were very accommodating, I was surprised that 2 of the 5 told the rest of class this private medical info? Like people who barely know my name? It's not like it was a big secret, but idk, it just felt weird...

that is most likely a violation of several conduct rules and even if it isnt thats still fucked up and you should tell the dean of students :/

Just got wrecked by season 4 of Poldark and I’m pretty happy because I grades for the semester were posted and I made straight As! First time in my life that’s happened I think…

oh my gosh congratulations!!! that’s such a massive achievement You Did It! you should definitely celebrate if you can by doing something a little special to remember the moment and the hard work you did! 

ah i never got around to finishing the season. i started watching a good potion of it while it was airing but Life got in the way :( i’m hoping it’s as soul crushing as i imagine it to be

are you gender critical?

i think gender is a system of male oppression over female people if that’s what you mean, but i don’t particularly care about how individual people identify. as for “the bathroom debate” i think trans people should have access to whatever bathroom they feel the most comfortable in, but i don’t think it’s a good idea to leave men’s bathrooms as they are and change all women’s bathrooms into “gender-neutral” ones when they are often safe spaces for women to escape male harassment. i wish everyone with sex dysphoria and body dysmorphia to find peace in whatever way they can, and i support both trans and detransitioned people. what i don’t support is the misogynistic and coercive attitude that seems to have dominated leftist spaces (but, if we’re being honest, that has literally always existed in some form simply because like all spaces that are not explicitly for women, it has been taken over and run by men). nor do i support the defense of rapists, abusers, or pedophiles that seems to flourish in this community. also on the blacklist: misogynistic violence or threats thereof, misogynistic language or insults, sexualized violence, porn, prostitution (pimps and johns, i have no problem with sex workers themselves and am in favor of decriminalizing (but not legalizing) sex work, increased protection for sex workers from disease, coercion, and violence, and ultimately the abolition of the entire sex industry. unfortunately many of the current communities for “sex worker rights” are fronts for pimps, so the best strategy is to support women who are currently in the industry and those who have exited it), homophobia (specifically lesbophobia), transphobia, and misogynoir. i took a quick look at your blog and saw that you identify as nonbinary, is it a leap to ask if that’s why you’re asking? if so, like i said earlier i don’t have a problem with nonbinary people but i do have a problem with the current rhetoric that insists that any woman’s desire to escape sexual harassment or the trauma of growing up with forced femininity makes her automatically nonbinary, as if cis women do not also often experience this same dysphoria/dysmorphia from growing up under the crushing weight of patriarchy. i also do not support the idea that butch lesbians are just trans men “in denial” (or that butch/femme couples are aping heterosexuality), and believe that there are many ways to express womanhood that do not involve what is traditionally referred to as femininity as it is, after all, simply a biological reality that does not otherwise define you except for your place in the oppressor/oppressed hierarchy of gender. if any of this makes you feel uncomfortable and you wish to unfollow me, that’s fine, and i wish you the best.
