how does Avery and Derek’s respective families think about all this? Do they know about hastur’s true origins?

Derek is no contact with his family. And Avery’s family doesn’t know about Hastur’s origins. But his family is supportive—the only issue is that Avery’s kinda distant from them despite having a very seemingly healthy relationship with them.

idk if you already posted about this and i didn't see, but i was wondering why Haita likes to hang around so much with Hastur despite Hastur being so Closed off.

Haïta feels a strange connection with Hastur. I suppose he likes hanging around Hastur because it’s so closed off. He likes the challenge and he’s so interested in Hastur’s intelligence.

Skdkdjdkd regarding the last ask, what stage are Avery and Derek at for Hastur? And mayhaps Haïta? :3

As a baby, Derek is in the “tolerates” phase and Avery is in the “enjoys company” phase. But later down the line, it’s opinions on Derek turns positive.

As of right now? Hastur considers it and Haïta to be “strangers” but it just has to tolerate the boy due to him always by it’s side.

dunno if this has been answered, but how Does hastur respond to open affection? like hugs and being told its loved?

Well this depends on what stage of a relationship it’s at:

Strangers— do not touch it, in fact, don’t even think of talking because you are not an important being in it’s circle.

Tolerates— you may sing your praises just don’t touch me.

Enjoys your company— Will soak up affection and think of them as equals. Being told it’s loved by someone it actually reciprocates will feel overjoyed an a bit overwhelmed. Physical touch is no problem for Hastur, it will cling unto you and if it could it would meld your skin together.

(Hastur is a bit of a narcissist, it believes that being adored and respected should be the default ToT )
