Once again, there is discourse in the Percy Jackson fandom about Black women playing characters that were white in the books. And they're only going after the women. Andra Day is playing Athena, which makes sense, given that Leah Jeffries, the actress for Annabeth, is also Black. Andra Day is now facing backlash for this. Leah Jeffries got harassed online when her casting was first announced. I couldn't find ANYTHING on Lance Reddick or Aryan Simhadri getting flak for playing Zeus or Grover. Why is it only the women?
If you support transgender people, then you have no reason to hate transracial people. Gender and race are both social constructs, meaning people should be able to change them into whatever makes them most comfortable. Every argument against transracial people can be applied to transgender people.
Having to explain to someone on TikTok that there is no shared white culture and the idea of a shared European/American/Australian etc race based culture IS part of an attempt to erase their ACTUAL culture and history. The "white genocide" you are so scared of is what you are actually empowering.
I'm Acadian. The French-Indian war was a genocide where the Native led Wabanaki Confederacy was dismantled, lands were stolen, people slaughtered, and cultures were destroyed. The Acadians who lived under it were considered 'too European' to massacre outright so instead they were either forcibly shipped back to France, Louisiana, or forced to flee deeper into Canada. My family fled deeper into Canada. Wabanaki Confederate lands became Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Acadians shipped to Louisiana combined their culture with the local Creole culture and formed the Cajun culture through a shared language of French, and experiences of being uprooted from their homes (Cajun is how Creole people would say "Acadian").
To allow my cultural history to be forgotten for the shared "White culture" would complete the genocide. Lands conquered, History forgotten, Lies adopted. To say the British who committed genocide on my ancestors and my ancestors are actually the same people is an insult and revisionism. That is what white culture is trying to do to European-descendant identities. It is what it did to black americans, cutting them from their history and culture and lands.
White supremacy and the very idea of a shared ethnic history harms EVERYONE including the people who most benefit from white supremacy.

Race isn’t biological. It’s not rooted in genetics, blood, or science. It’s a social and political idea—built by people, maintained by systems, and used to justify inequality.
There is no gene for race. What we call “race” was created to organize power—to decide who gets to be human in full and who doesn’t.

The modern idea of race was developed during colonization and slavery.
European powers needed a way to morally justify theft, violence, and control—so they made race a hierarchy:
White = civilized, intelligent, deserving
Black, Indigenous, and other nonwhite peoples = lesser, exploitable, inferior
That wasn’t based on fact. It was propaganda turned into policy.
Imposter syndrome is simultaneously not being white but having your actual race not be something most people are aware of (USAmericans generally don’t know Romani people exist :/ )
imposter syndrome when you're romani is...
why tf is white peoples lore always smth like “i was racist and then i shipped something gay aha” why tf are you sharing being racist like that-?
I don't want to say internet discourse has gotten objectively worse in the past fifteen years, but I will say in 2010 basically every political faction that wasn't openly nazis agreed that race mixing was ok, but I can't think of any political community in 2025 where you could post "race mixing is ok" and you wouldn't get at least one person disagreeing with you for some reason or another.
