There are many things that are interesting about them ! I feel like there are so many good reasons to pair them up even just platonically, it's criminal to me that they've barely interacted in canon.
The biggest and most obvious draw for me is Silv's fascination with history and Knux's abundance of it. Lots of potential that I hope is explored in canon sometime.
Going to talk about how I personally fantasize about Mephinite. Yayyyy<3
They both think they’re manipulating the other. They are both desperate for something. Mephiles wants to exist and Infinite wants incredible power.
If Infinite could find a way to harness enough power to bring Mephiles back into the timeline, I like to think Infinite would treat Mephiles like a servant. Like a genie. A demon he’s summoned that is obligated to follow his orders now.
And Mephiles, I imagine would see Infinite as somewhat naive. Like, does this guy really know what he’s done? Infinite would be a pawn to him. Sort of how he viewed both Shadow and Silver.
They both believe they’re the mastermind in this situation, they both believe they have the other wrapped around their finger. They’d both plan to backstab the other. And maybe they would. But maybe they wouldn’t… codependency blossoms!!!! Love is in the air.
Silver being immune to the butterfly effect is so fucking raw. He is more of a symbol than he is a person. Incredible stuff.
