More thoughts after the rewatch (just a few)
So did LMD May heroically blow up just the hangar, or did she destroy the entire Playground with innocent, unconscious agents still inside?
I watched the introduction to the Framework with the mindset that this was a world made up of choices that all these characters would have made. That might be true for Mack, for Radcliffe, and for May, but I don’t think Coulson and Fitz would choose to follow paths other than SHIELD if given the opportunity. The framework didn’t just straight up ask them how they wanted to change things, AIDA went through their lives and their memories and she made a calculated, emotionless decision for each of them, albeit from observing their emotions, but not having them herself. For Mack, yes, she was right in seeing the distress caused by losing his daughter and undoing that. May’s change was brought upon by Radcliffe, and we don’t know Radcliffe’s or Mace’s changes yet. But I think specifically Fitz’s change in the Framework is strictly AIDA calculating that he would have been better off without SHIELD. Would Fitz go back and never join, knowing that it would result in Jemma dying in the first season of the show? I don’t think he would.
Daisy said Lincoln’s name at the end because that’s who she wanted it to be. The Framework wasn’t made for her at all, because guess what, her brain was never scanned; just like Jemma didn’t go in asking for a reality in which she was already dead. Daisy didn’t go in there for her perfect life, or what AIDA would have calculated to be her perfect life, she hacked her way in to save her friends. One or a few of the six changes AIDA made for the others had a domino effect that led to Ward being alive and with Daisy (or for all we know, she could still go by Skye) and that is not at all affected by Daisy’s true feelings for Ward with the context of everything that transpired over the 2.5 seasons he was alive, whatever they may be (and the evidence strongly points in one direction)
