Something About Being A Feminist
The other day my friend (a guy) and I were having a conversation. It's August 15, my country's Independence day. The topic was whether women in our country enjoy independence as much as men do.
His point was that between 1947 and 2020 there was so much difference. Women who were restricted in the kitchen are now excelling in various fields. Women are CEO's, Doctors, Astronauts, Politicians. The future of women empowered is here. So why do women keep arguing for this? Why do we still ask for more?
My answer was simple. Women empowerment is a flame. A flame needs to go on. If we stop asking for more, what we have would be seized from us.
Let the flame burn brighter!

you were not born to be a worker
you were not born to be a worker. "pleasure and play". questions to think about: how can you make your daily routines more playful/pleasurable? can you make shifts in how you experience your commute? what part(s) of your day would benefit from the magic of pleasure and play? your coffee making process? getting dressed? pleasure-focused routine: wake up. something for the soul, something for the brain, something for the spirit. spend time outside/get some fresh air. do nothing. something to enhance your space. something for or with your community. something creative. something younger you would love. move your body. relax. something pleasurable. sleep. play-focused routine: wake up. play with something that centers your senses. play with other people. play with games or toys younger you would love. play with things that let you get messy/dirty. experiment with your play. play a game with no rules. watch someone else play. sleep. productivity death escalator: one of many social scripts that involves a certain/default set of expectations and way of relating to work, labor and productivity that many see as commonplace. people are expected to remain on the escalator until death. the escalator is the standard by which some people gauge whether a person is a valuable member of society.

Casey Affleck Deserves for Hell to Break Loose All Over Him
Now that I know about Casey Affleck's sexual assault case, I wish that when one of those people from the tour bus had come up to the first row, they would've confronted him on live TV and made a scene. And punched his jaw with EVERYTHING they had. Now THAT would've been great to see...
I'm so frustrated with all of the racism, sexism, angst, etc across the country.
I'm so disappointed in the way that our country (our government) is reacting.
I'm so annoyed at the fact that I still have to stand up every day like a fucking drone and place my hand over my heart to swear to god that I love and honor my country.
1. It is 2014 and we are supposed to have a separation of church and state.
2. I work in a public school where there is not supposed to be a clear denomination preference because we represent and teach students of all backgrounds.
3. Why do we have to stand up every day to pledge our allegiance to the country? When did this become a thing and how is this showcasing our freedom?
4. Why am I supposed to reprimand students who choose not to participate?
5. Why do I, as the professional, have to participate if it goes against everything I stand for?
