Vera had been, quite frankly, thriving up until now. The Conclave was a good place for her, to look pretty and make acquaintances-- she’s even managed a brief conversation with the Russian Minister’s assistant. She looked over the crowd, wondering if it would be too much to seek out the Quidditch players as she started to take a sip of her drink. The sound of a familiar voice distracted her. “I’m sorry, what?” Vera inquired, pulling her cup away from her lips.

     Sergei was against one of the several tables that were decked with punch and hors d'oeuvres galore. His eyes were glued to Gecko Gertland, an idol for the young wizards. Though the quibbler’s publication rarely made it out to Russia---let alone his hometown, Sergei often found ways to get the paper while also practiced his English with the same text. For him, Gecko, was a skilled writer and had a blossoming career so young. He spent most of the night plucking up some courage, so much that he figured another swing of his drink would do him well and then he’d head over.

               ---H o w e v e r once the last drop of cream punch passed his lips, a slimy and puckered slug brushed across them as well.

       In anguish and shock, he made a slight YELP, his body springing back as the table behind him rattled; pastries and fruit scattered around him while some toppled over and onto the ground. Sadly he had made a scene.

                   AN UPCOMING RADICAL MAGIC EVENT --  PLEASED AS PUNCH

Roleplay Date:  Last weekend of September, 2017 Real Time: February 19 at 8 pm EST - March 1 at 7pm EST Location: Salem’s Karuzos Hall

The various ‘getting to know you’ events around campus have finally died down, only to give way to networking opportunities exclusive to the Youth Summit. The Student Ambassadors have been invited to attend the first-ever Inaugural Summit Conclave. The evening’s schedule includes a message from Alfonso Echevarria and special guests that range in popularity from Wizengamot members to star Quidditch players to even an eccentric billionaire potioneer or two.  While the night does promise to be memorable, there are forces at work that are determined to make the Conclave a night the students will never forget. Various potions, essences, and alcohols have found their way into drinks throughout the evening with effects that range from amusing to downright mortifying. It’s time for you to pick your poison... and rub elbows with the magical elite.

Be sure to check out our updated plot-- it does explain a tiny bit about these nefarious powers that be! Additionally, anyone who wishes for their character to receive a spiked drink should send an ask to the main-- if you have more than one character, please be sure to send just one message.

You take a sip of your drink to find… that everything is moving too fast. Befuddlement Draught has been used to spike your drink. The draught makes you sluggish and slow. You can’t really tell, but your speech is slurring and your motor skills are totally shot.

You take a sip of your drink to find… it suddenly tastes terrible. Onion juice has been used to spike your drink. The whole thing is positively ruined now– not to mention the fact that your eyes won’t stop watering and you bear an undeniable oniony scent.

Thanks to all who volunteered-- now the fun begins! As of 12pm EST, Radical Magic’s first event is underway. OOC knowledge is not IC knowledge. Your character is probably not going to know just from sniffing their drink or taking one sip what has happened to them-- and the discovery is all part of the fun! 

No Godmodding. Your character should not be controlling how other people’s spiked drinks react, or immediately know what the effect is without express permission from the other roleplayer.
