(wow I can't wait to cry... 🙃)

This is a scene I don't have a good place for yet in a longer wip I'm working on. It's set a good while after the game, in a future where the counselors are trying their best to move on with life, and Ryan and Dylan have only recently reconnected.

Here we go:

There's a middle aged Black guy in the picture, with a shiny bald head and handsomely scruffy facial hair. He's got a hoop in his ear, and the sleeves of his t-shirt are cut off, and there's a charmingly casual energy about him. As if he'd never been afraid a day in his life. The people in the photo all seem to unconciously lean toward him, drawn to the stability he represents.

Dylan realises that, in his own rigid way, Ryan tries to emulate this man. With his brave face, and his occasional joke. Even the slight alternative style he dresses in isn't far from the sauve, touseled man in the photograph. It answers the questions meeting his mother had raised, but Dylan isn't so sure he likes knowing anymore

So these two mfs were just gonna yearningly say each other’s names like that on main, directly in front of all of our salads, huh? Dylan really fucking doubled down on the “touch my hand.” And Miles ad-libbed that line so did they just ad-lib this whole thing??? (Probably not, like he probably added the line and the director liked it and this was a later take, but still!)
