I know I've complained a lot about local environmental destruction so I feel like I should say, without doxxing myself by sharing any details, that a beautiful local site was recently saved from development. it had already been sold to developers, and the outcry from locals who walked the trails there and used the space was so loud and sustained that the town bought the land back and preserved it as a park. always complain and keep complaining, even when it looks like it's too late!! municipal governments are the easiest to pressure into changing course. only a small portion of the land was built on and the rest of it is now safe for all the wonderful species who call it home
ive read actual articles supplied to me by my college's library about intersex issues.
Doctors have lied to parents saying the baby has heart issues just to preform IGM instead. Doctors have preformed IGM without asking the parents. Doctors have coerced parents. Parents have decided IGM entirely based on not wanting a "freak" kid. Doctors & parents will use instruments on children to "widen" their vagina. Doctors will "stimulate" children's genitals for "medical" purposes. Doctors will rape their intersex patients. They will treat them like circus freaks. Doctors & parents will force kids through HRT & never explain to them why their kids' body is different. Just tell them it needs fixing. Parents will find out their kid went through the "wrong puberty" & change their socially imposed gender theyre being raised as.
The list goes on. But no yea sure intersex kids need to go to parents & doctors about this shit & not ever look into the community of oppressed people that talks about these issues constantly. That help give advice & pave the way for others in situations where they dont have as much help.
