Hey, for things like ur Nico stuff, how do you lay out your comics? I’m trying to get back into casual comics but it’s all so foreign to me, and I wanna make sure I’m not expending more effort than I should
all my comics are are just a single document with each layer representing each panel
if it has color, each panel will be it’s own group
the size I pick is sort of arbitrary. Sometimes I’ll do a 16:9 aspect ratio because most phone/computer screens are 16:9, so then if you fullview each image it’ll fill up the whole screen. Other times I just have a vague mental image of how I’m planning the composition to look and create the file size accordingly. For the most part, I avoid making my files taller than they are wide so you don’t have to take forever to scroll past it on social media.
This way of comic making can be a little limiting, since I don’t get any practice with how multiple comic panels flow altogether on a single page, and since all the panels are the same size I can’t change the ratio of one specific panel for emphasis without making a whole new file.
