mean lesbian
a reclamation of the "mean lesbian" stereotype and media trope; a misogynous and lesmisic assumption that lesbians are scorned women who turn to lesbianism as "revenge" against men in some way. the "mean lesbian" is "frigid", "bitchy", and generally off-put to men- almost always due to past trauma- and needs to be "fixed" in the narrative. while there is critique to be made about TERFs and transandromisia in the mean lesbian community, [my version of] Mean Lesbianism is inherently trans inclusive.
it can also be used similarly to "queer evils" stereotyping, where queer people (lesbians, in this case) are demonized as inherently abusive (usually sexually, but not always). "queer evils" plays into religious saneism and sex negative rhetoric such as purity culture, amatonormativity (nuclear family), and anti-kink. Mean Lesbianism can apply to working class struggles as well; ie, civil rights, workers rights, and feminism.
