Sherbet Lesbian

A lesbian term for lesbians who love in any "soft" manner. "Soft" may mean a variety of things. (Examples: sweet dates, soft kisses, cuddles, hugs, baking for a partner, etc.)

This may tie in with being a bambi lesbian, but does not have to. This is not necessarily a term for those who prefer non-sexual acts over sexual acts, but rather soft acts over less soft acts, whatever that may mean to the user.

mean lesbian

a reclamation of the "mean lesbian" stereotype and media trope; a misogynous and lesmisic assumption that lesbians are scorned women who turn to lesbianism as "revenge" against men in some way. the "mean lesbian" is "frigid", "bitchy", and generally off-put to men- almost always due to past trauma- and needs to be "fixed" in the narrative. while there is critique to be made about TERFs and transandromisia in the mean lesbian community, [my version of] Mean Lesbianism is inherently trans inclusive.

it can also be used similarly to "queer evils" stereotyping, where queer people (lesbians, in this case) are demonized as inherently abusive (usually sexually, but not always). "queer evils" plays into religious saneism and sex negative rhetoric such as purity culture, amatonormativity (nuclear family), and anti-kink. Mean Lesbianism can apply to working class struggles as well; ie, civil rights, workers rights, and feminism.

A term for lesbians who feel like their gender is tied to their dykehood, androgyny, and/or gender ambiguity or a gender that can only be described as being an androgynous lesbian/dyke. This can be used by women, enbies, transmascs, genderqueer folks, etc.

a lesbian whose preference fluctuates between focusing on non-sexual affection and focusing on sexual affection.

the first stripe represents water, which symbolizes the fluctuating nature of this label. the second stripe represents non-conformity to pure standards of lesbianism. the third stripe represents lesbians who aren't often included in the lesbian label, including (but not limited to) lesbians of color, genderfluid lesbians, and masc lesbians. the fourth stripe represents the wholesomeness of the lesbian community. the fifth stripe represents affection. the sixth stripe represents balance. the seventh stripe represents sex.
