Nearly had a heart attack… Opened up Ellipsus on my phone to work on my wip, and the project just gave me an error code instead of loading. Only that project, not the others. Thankfully, I can access it without any trouble on my computer, so it’s not lost at least. But you know, the stress!!!
And yes, I do download it occasionally as a safety measure, but it has been a couple of days since last time.
Just did some preliminary chapter breaks in my wip, just to check how long it’ll be. It’s 29 fucking chapters so far…!
Obviously, that number is going to change. Maybe I’ll combine a couple of shorter chapters into one, but who knows, maybe I’ll split another. Or simply add more. Either way, it’s way more than I expected, and I’m starting to doubt my thoughts about weekly upload once it’s finished, because that’s a long time.
Unnecessary writing update, but my wip is now over 35k and still growing.
It’s grown way darker than I initially anticipated, and I do feel sorry for the poor guy I’ve chosen to torture… I’ve put him through some shit, and it’s not like he had a life of sunshine and puppies in canon before this either.
There’s still plenty of holes for me to plug and massive amounts of editing to come, but I’m very happy with how it’s coming along.
Writing a sweet and loving scene can truly be heartbreaking when it’s only a flashback and you know what will happen later…
Going to bed ‘cos I’m about to pass out, but the wip broke 30k tonight!
Can’t wait to start posting, but that’s still a long way off at this point.
I know I can’t be the only one, but when you’re working on a fic, do you have this intense urge to share it, like, NOW! but, unfortunately, since you’re still writing it, that’s not a possibility and it makes you sad?
Yeah, that’s where I’m at right now…
Last night I wrote the first (very rough) draft of the ending of my latest wip. There’s still huge chunks of story missing that I need to fill in, but now I at least have a “completed” text that I can work with. Currently standing at 23k, but I’m curious to see where it it’ll end up once I’m finished.
*chanting like a football supporter* 20k! 20k! 20k!
Let’s just say I’ve been quite productive lately, and it’s still so far from finished…
