Greed – The Film Well, I went to see the Steve Coogan film ‘Greed’ this afternoon. H e plays a rather coarse self made rag trade billionaire who after a parliamentary inquiry into his business affairs, decides to celebrate his 60th birthday in the style of a Roman Emperor on the island of Mykonos but things don’t go smoothly.

Day 10: Down the chimney!
This Mr Sacks comes down the chimney in a floating welter of robes... much paler than the last time. One might call them anaemic. He desires wild words.
Mr Sacks! Take this limping rhyme. Give up a Maniac's Prayer.
A restless creak
The hood gapes wider, and the Prayer vanishes within. He never touches his sack. It is as if he has consumed the sound. "I am hungry still," he whispers. "I think I will always be hungry." The whisper curls and falls to the ground. Or did he simply let something fall from his sleeve?
Mr Sacks has requested wild words.
You've lost 1 x Maniac's Prayer.
You've gained 1 x Whisper-Satin Scrap.
Wild Words for Rag Trade items? Are they the by-products?
Fashion Business: Rag Trade
By Asma
Last week's post was an introduction to fashion business. For this post, I will be focusing on "rag trade".
Just like any other business, fashion business is not an easy one. In fact, fashion business, which is sometimes known as "rag trade" (now you know what the term means!), is one of the most difficult sectors in the business industry because it requires not only skill, but also creativity. Between these two terms comes the knowledge of what is going on in the world, the connections a particular firm has, and the strength of production. Another reason why fashion business is considered very complicated is the fact that it is changing daily. In the fashion industry, not everything remains for long. Therefore, designers and producers need to meet specific deadlines whether they like it or not to stay in the business. However, does the fashion industry get affected by global economics? Indeed it does. "Rag trade" is successful when there are sales. Once the economy declines, sales decrease. The fashion industry gets highly affected since the industry operates under a tight calendar and borrowing money to operate during a crisis is very difficult.
Next week's post will include one of the most powerful mergers in the fashion industry, and maybe couture?
