Okay so I don't mention this a lot but I'm Japanese-American/Canadian (born and raised in the US but my grandma and her family is from Canada), as a result I know roughly how people who are Japanese or of Japanese descent have been treated.

It really fucks me up to see the similarities to what the US and Canada did during WWII and what the US is doing to anyone vaguely not white now.

No due process, just taking all your shit and sending you straight to a fucking camp.

i am trying SO HARD to crochet correctly but i learned wrong form and i can’t stop it

i feed the yarn to the crochet at whatever tension i want with two fingers pinching it which can make inconsistent tension

i’m struggling to not be too tight when i do it properly and i’ve heard bad things about tension rings so idk if it’s worth it

Look me directly in the eyes when I say this, I need some of you to fucking understand something.

You cannot pull an "I told you so" if and/or when Trump supports get fucked over by the policies they voted for.

If you actually want people to understand where we're coming from, if you want these people to actually change, we have to meet them with compassion. It is not "haha, that's what you get, serves you right" it is "hey man, me too, we'll get through this together." Like, yeah the whole "kill em with kindness" shit is overplayed, but we cannot criticize the people we say aren't empathetic and then be a dick when they get humbled. Moreover, if you're going to get these people to accept and understand LGBTQ people/minorities/disabled people/etc. they have to actually be exposed to people from those communities because the more that happens the more accepting they become

Obviously there's infinite nuance, don't come at me with that. Just please, ffs, don't be a huge dick online and if someone's trying to understand or change, help them. I'm very much "fuck Trump" and "punch Nazis" as the next punk but also fucking be nice to people.

so lil fact about me

i've wanted to play dnd since my teens

i did a one shot last year and then started a campaign that only lasted 4 sessions

i'm so desperate to play but afraid of talking to strangers to find a group that would commit

so instead i look up crochet patterns of dnd things i could make to live through that. i made a dragon holding a dice pouch for my partner but i want to crochet a beholder now

I got a surprise yarn delivery yesterday (with these three matching skeins)

and i’m losing my marbles

they’re gorgeous and idk what to use them for

Tbh, growing up with a not white name I've never gotten upset when people fuck up my name because it's not really a name people are gonna encounter in their day to day

However

Apparently at the football game I missed today they did a senior recognition, including those who are in band and just completely butchered my name.

Now if the nurse at the doctor's office did that? Sure, whatever. In an official university capacity? Seriously??? You couldn't take two fucking seconds to look up a pronunciation????

Just on top of the fact that they already fuck over the music department it feels like such a slap in the face.
