I don’t really know a lot of useless pieces of knowledge, but uh… I guess I’ll share some random facts???
Akihiko Yoshida’s favorite art piece he’s done for the Bravely Series is a picture of Edea that’s drawn from Ringabel’s perspective.
The above fact inspired Yuno to draw a similar image of Magnolia, and since Yuno drew all of the art for Yew’s diary, it can be assumed that picture is drawn from Yew’s perspective.
A scrapped plot for Awakening was having it take place on Mars.
Since it the time it was discovered, made a planet, lost it’s planetary status, and became a dwarf planet, Pluto hasn’t finished a complete revolution around the sun.
Blinking is both an involuntary and voluntary movement, so while your body normally does it for you involuntary, once you become aware you are blinking, it becomes voluntary.
And that wraps it up for random facts that I know. All useless, but still pretty neat… Minus the last one. That one is just evil.
since knoll has flowers in his hair does that mean he's wrappd in a flour tortilla?
“Look at him, Eirika… He’s a beautiful burrito!”“What’s a burrito?”
…this ask is really old and based off a really old post, so this joke is probably doesn’t make a lot of sense oops. The mods, however, continue to support Burrito Knoll and wish him the best. May he stay safe forever.
You didn’t specify fandom when you sent this, so I decided to go with FE8. I like to call these two “Two Aces who have no idea how to romance so they’re just winging it together”.
“So… What are you reading?”
Knoll looked up from his book and towards the woman sitting next to him. She sat on a rock with her feet resting on the ground below, and her head tilted slightly as she looked at him curiously. Knoll didn’t know why Marisa had joined him, but after she had completed her training for the day, she had marched up the hill he sat on and asked to join him in passing the time. That had been about an hour ago, and the two had stayed there quietly as the time passed, neither of them really sure what to say. It hadn’t been a horrible time, per se, just odd, even for Knoll’s standards.
“I’m reading a book,” Knoll responded before looking back at the tome in his hands. “A very old book.”
“...what kind of old book?” Marisa continued to ask him. She had leaned over to get a better look at it, and her head was close to resting on his shoulder. Unsure of what to make of the situation, Knoll held the aging text closer to her.
“It’s an old shaman’s tome,” he began to explain. “It’s rumored to contain a dark spell so powerful, it can level an entire mountain and strike down entire armies.”
Sliding off the rock, Marisa sat down directly next to Knoll, her arm just barely touching his. “Sounds scary,” she said as she put a hand on the dusty, leather cover. “Do you know how to read it?”
Knoll shook his head. “It’s in an old language- one even older than the great dragon Morva, and there is none left who can decipher it,” he continued explaining. He watched as Marisa traced around the decor on the cover, trying to get a sense of the text written on it. She seemed rather interested in the design.
“That’s a shame,” she said before moving her hand away from the cover. “I was hoping you’d be able to.”
A bit concerned, Knoll gave Marisa a strange look. “Such a power is dangerous, and even if I could read it, I would let the tome’s words die with me. It shouldn’t be allowed to fall into the hands of any mage willing to misuse it,” he warned. Marisa seemed to be understanding, however, and leaned back to look at the sky.
“It’s strange to think that there’s a force so powerful that it should be locked away forever,” she mused as she looked at the clouds floating by. “It’s kind of like the Demon King, don’t you think?”
Nodding in agreement, Knoll looked up at the sky as well. The clouds were rather dark. “I’m sure it’s not the only object like this either. One cannot know what artifacts and weapons we have lost due to their great power,” he told her. The world was quite mysterious, and there were always strange forces at work. In his mind, there were undoubtedly more powerful objects that existed, but they had all been destroyed or hidden away. He wondered if he could find them.
“I wonder if there’s any swords out there as strong as that book,” Marisa mentioned as she stretched. A bit curious, Knoll looked at her and placed the tome in his lap.
“And why do you wonder that?” Knoll asked. Marisa shrugged and laid down on her back, Knoll joining her a second later.
“I just think it’d be badass to cut down an entire mountain.”
I've got 2 if that's okay. Have you had any anon hate, and instead of XYZ happening, you would have made ABC happen…
Salty Ask Meme
I’m totally okay with you sending in multiple, and since I originally misread your question as wanting question 2, I’ll throw that in at the end as a bonus.
Have you ever had anon hate?
Much to my surprise, I have not. I’ve at least expected some over the years I’ve been doing Bravely Babies, but I’ve managed to get off scott free I guess. The fandom is probably small enough that people really don’t care, or I’m just not really noticeable enough for somebody to talk shit on me. If I get any I’ll probably just delete it, but I imagine it’s still going to hit me pretty hard when and if I do.
Instead of XYZ happening, you would have made ABC happen…
I already answered a BD related one over here, so I’ll answer an FE one for this one. It has to do with a specific chapter in the Revelations Route of Fates.
You know the chapter where Xander praises Corrin for being naive, and it turns out Corrin actually left a note and all that? I would change that so hard so Corrin would be punished for their character flaw. BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HAVE FLAWS. BAD STUFF HAPPENS, AND YOU LEARN FROM IT.
So like, imagine Corrin didn’t leave a note, and was about to seriously get hurt, causing Ryoma and Xander needing to rush in to save them. The two of them get injured protecting Corrin, making them unable to be used in that chapter, and Corrin learns the hard way that you can’t trust everyone you meet.
Especially as somebody who is one day going to rule over a country, you at least need some sense of knowing when something feels off. You can’t just go prancing in and expecting everything to be perfect and dandy.
Smh I’m still angry Corrin gets praised for being naive and the fandom loves them, and then Eirika gets a bunch of shit for being naive when she actually gets punished and learns from her mistake. It’s so stupid.
Now for the bonus question I put on myself.
Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?*
The first two that come into mind are Ringatiz and Janne/Yew, but since those are also BroTPS I NOTP extremely hard in romantic context, I’ll go with another example.
A very popular OTP that I can only BroTP is the Poly Crystal Crew OT4, or my ultimate BroTP as I like to call it. I’m really picky with any poly ship, and most of the ones I have it’s because I feel like the ship gains something from all the characters being romantically involved. The rest are just fueled by spite.
That being said, the Crystal Crew is one of those ships that I personally don’t feel anything is gained from them all being romantically involved. All the fun stuff for me comes from their friendship as a whole, and a romance is just an extra layer that I particularly don’t need to add on to be happy with it. I like them all as bros with their own respected romances, and really nothing is going to change that for me.
i'm gonna be that guy and say "the" for your ask meme
Fanfiction Work-In-Progress Guessing Game
I mean TECHNICALLY this lets me pull any sentence from any fic wip I want as long as it has “the” in it, so I honestly have no complaints.
“It’s just a scratch!” he’d say before giving a low chuckle and covering whatever wound he had received. Sometimes she could see blood dripping through his hands, but even then he’d deny it’s something serious. The look in his eyes at these times would always make Edea uncomfortable, and Tiz and Agnès had told her they felt the same way. The three of them had talked about what to do about it on multiple occasions about it, but none of their plans seemed to work. Ringabel continued to laugh about the idea of his own demise, and he was starting to terrify them.
This is from a fic wip that’s actually for a request I got from an anon! It’s more angst, because for some reason I can only really right angst lately, but this angst is for a request so I can let it slide.
Send me a character and I’ll explain how I write them
I used to write Pokemon fics many many years ago, but I don’t recall if I ever wrote a fic that included him. I have vague memories of RPing him when I used to RP with a friend, but that’s all I really have to go by.
N is a smart character, and I remember that he tends to speak fast. If I were to write him in a BW based scenario, I would definitely want to focus on that as a big point. Maybe I’d write him something like this?
“In our world, Pokemon are the only beings that are truly good, and they deserve more than the lives we force them to live,” he told her quickly and bluntly. “Your pokemon seem to be truly happy with you though, but why is that?”
As shown above, I’d have to also include his opinions on Pokemon and trainers to really get his personality across. Much of who he is revolves around the happiness of Pokemon over people, so it’s a point I’d really have to try and stick with.
Meanwhile, with post BW and B2W2, there wouldn’t be too much of a change. He’d recognize the relationship between Pokemon and trainers more, and he’d probably be less blunt. He’d be really nice too, so he has that going for him. Perhaps something like this:
“Such strength and passion! You and your Pokemon are truly great friends,” he said with a smile. “You care for them deeply, and in turn they’ve come to care for you too.”
More than likely I’d have to replay the games to get an actual good feel though. It’s been years since their release, but since BW are some of my favorite Pokemon games, it wouldn’t hurt me to play them through again!
