I’m making a Positive Change for myself!
I’ve noticed that since starting my new job I’ve had less time to write in the mornings. The mornings are when I’m at my creative best and when I can write the most volume and I’ve really missed that. So! Starting in the New Year, I’ve adjusted my schedule so that I start working a half hour later, and yet I go a half hour longer in the afternoons.
This is more along the lines of my ‘old’ schedule; I’m really hoping it gives me the time I need in the morning while not comprising my job. I think it’ll work out well. I do have the option of pushing it back another half hour if I like, but I don’t really want to - that would mean my afternoons would be quite late.
*fingers crossed!* Here’s to more writing time in 2017! In related news, my 50K Murder Mystery In Space story is almost done, I’m just finishing the last chapter now. It needs editing, editing, oh my gods, so much editing, but then it will be done! I’m really considering self-publishing it, I just wish Amazon was more user - and reader - friendly. I’m really hoping the brilliant crew at AO3 turn their collective minds towards a for-profit self-publishing site: it could be called Archive For All (or something.) I actually sent them an email about it. I’m not sure how realistic it is, or if anyone there has a mind to do it, but I think it would be awesome. I find it so difficult to search Amazon for the self-published stories I want to read! I’m too used to AO3′s amazing tag-and-search system; I can narrow it down to fic length and number of kudos and I don’t want to compromise that.
