✦ Happy Raijinshuu Day! Here’s My Take on a Young Raijinshuu!!
I’ve been wanting to draw them as kids for a while, especially since we have no official depictions of them before Fairy Tail. So here’s my interpretation! I have soooo many headcanons about these three, it’s kinda ridiculous lol. I just love them so much!
I hold no hope for anything official, so I took it upon myself to find a way to bring our favorite team to life! Using Verloria's Niseke Papercraft Template, I designed these cute little versions of the Raijinshuu & Laxus to decorate your shelves! (+ bases so they can stand easier!!)
Make your favorite character or the whole team!
Happy Raijinshuu Day as my gift to you!
[ And, for those who have never made a papercraft figure before, I also wrote up a tutorial @ raijin-tribe.tumblr.com/papercraft! I hope it helps!! ]
Here’s what the team looks like completed:
If you have ANY questions, concerns, or just need help with making your papercraft, don't hesidate to reach out to my ASK! I'll answer any questions and build up an FAQ on the tutorial page so it may help someone else!
PRINTABLE DESIGNS BELOW!!
Save the characters you'd like to make to your device of choice to be able to print! Just make sure to save the base page TWICE if you plan on making the whole team.
I apologize ahead of time that some details are super tiny and tedious to cut out and glue, but totally worth it for the final product imo! My advice is don't worry about perfection and just have fun!
Final Note; please tag this blog if you post/share your papercraft creations!! It would make me so happy to see!! No matter of they’re just decorating your shelves or traveling with you on your next adventure!!
✦ Raijinshuu Day is Back, Babies!! Let's Celebrate~!
October 8th is only a month away so here's the official announcement post for RAIJINSHUU DAY 2025!
The Raijinshuu, as a team and as individual characters, are forgotten about far to often for my tastes. From being sidelined in major story arcs, to being frequently left out of official art, and even being completely writen off in the latest Fairy Tail games... they've had it rough.
So let's change that.
It doesn't have to be anything crazy. I just invite you all to share your love for these characters on a day dedicated to them. Be it fan-art, fanfiction, edits, gif sets, manga colorings, headcanons, discussion posts, your favorite clips/screenshots/manga panels, or absolutely anything else you can dream up!
Let's celebrate Freed, Evergreen, and Bickslow as the amazing, unique, and badass characters they are and give them the love they deserve!
✦ Participation Guidelines ↓
There are two ways to participate. You can either submit your post to this blog or post it to your own. Just make sure to put #RaijinshuuDay in the first five tags of your post! Or feel free to @ this blog just to be safe.
As already mentioned, there is no limit to what kind of content you can post, be it fan art, fanfiction, edits, gif-sets, manga colorings, headcanons, etc. There will never be any prompts, so be as creative as you want!
Do keep in mind that this day is supposed to be about the Raijinshuu and their team dynamic, so please keep it appropriate. Anything explicitly NSFW or ship-related will NOT be reblogged.
DO NOT steal, trace, or alter anybody else’s work! Plagiarism will not be tolerated. The use of official art for color or edits is fine as long as you credit the original artist/source. (i.e. Hiro Mashima, Kyouta Shibano, etc.)
This is a new rule that feels like it shouldn't need to be said... but absolutely NO AI CONTENT ALLOWED! This a creative space for fans, creators, writers, and artists to share their love for these characters. No place for artifically generated prompts. Regardless of how you feel about AI, Hiro Mashima HIMSELF is openly against it. So please respect the author and the community by keeping AI out of the fandom space.
With that out of the way, let's have some fun! This event is supposed to be a lighthearted and fun way to give these characters the love and appreciation they deserve. Even if you don't participate, help support others by commenting, liking, and/or reblogging their work! It's always appreciated!
And don’t forget that late posts are always welcome! No matter how late they may be, as long as they’re tagged/submitted, they can still be featured here!
Finally, please consider rebloging this post to help spread the word! I know I've been a bit inactive lately, but I am always truly grateful for all your support!! <3
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

❝ Now the story enters the Laxus chapter, but this is another series that I just suddenly came up with. Actually, up to now, I was thinking of doing a completely different story arc. But just as I was doing the installment where Fairy Tail is featured in the magazine, I thought, hold on a second... If Laxus saw that article, wouldn't he get really angry at it? And little by little the present story line developed. And before I had gone much further in my musings, bang!! I'm writing the Laxus chapter!! The plot twists were plot twists that just suddenly came to me (well, that's nothing new).
The Harvest Festival and the Raijin Tribe, they were all things I came up with during that installment. ❞

I know Mashima is known for his unplanned story direction, especially in the early arcs… but it’s so crazy to think that he created the Raijinshuu practically on a whim. I’m dying to know his thought process during that time! Like how did he come up with their magic? Their characters designs?? Their personalities? What inspired him? I’d at least love to see any early sketches of the characters. That’d be soo cool.
It also makes me wonder, even if Hiro Mashima didn’t write the Fantasia arc and went with his original plan…. Would we have eventually seen the characters elsewhere in the story?
Even so, they definitely wouldn’t be the same Raijinshuu we know and love today.
Thank you to all who participated in Raijinshuu Day this year!!! I can’t express how much I appreciate it. I always love seeing more fan art and appreciation for these amazing characters!
And not only the artists, but thank you to everyone who liked and reblogged to spread the word and show support!! It really does mean a lot!
And don’t forget! You can still participate in Raijinshuu Day!! October 8th may be over, but more Raijinshuu appreciation is ALWAYS welcome! And I’ll always be happy to feature your fanart, fanfics, edits, etc. here! ⋆˙⟡
