There's an author on AO3 who is generating AI art for her Rainbolt/Geoguessr fanfics, so the call-out below is directed straight at her for her goddamn audacity to be so gung-ho about a man who constantly and openly talks about how much he loves our planet and how beautiful it is and then turns around and helps ruin it directly herself. Do you know what you can do instead of generating stolen, shitty AI art? Pay real artists! Artists like @cheap-slaw , @irenereru and @ayjaydraws.

Did you know that the actual energy and water consumption cost is even higher, because the leading companies have become increasingly secretive about exact numbers? Did you know that Hayao Miyazaki called AI-generated art an insult to life itself and a soulless disrespect to human creativity?

Did you know, above all, that generative AI models are trained on stolen art, and the rise of generative AI has cost thousands of creative sector workers their jobs? Including people I know, and have known for years, who were told directly to their face that their jobs and livelihoods were being cut because of it? Anyway, AI art is theft, generative AI is killing our planet, fucking pay real human artists or draw it yourself.
