Echinocereus dasyacanthus | Texas rainbow cactus
The Gardens on Spring Creek | Fort Collins, CO
Echinocereus dasyacanthus, known as the Texas rainbow cactus or yellow-flowered hedgehog, is a showstopper of the Southwest. Its bright lemon-yellow blooms—sometimes with reddish or orange throats—burst from low-growing, spiny stems in spring, often catching the eye against dry, rocky backdrops.
Native to West Texas, southern New Mexico, and parts of northern Mexico, it’s also grown in Colorado gardens for its cold-hardiness and striking form. Though less common than the claret cup, it offers a cheerful contrast with its golden flowers and dense, fuzzy spines—like a desert sunrise wrapped in armor.
they’ve decreed it
Back when I used to actually go out and party.
Since I decided I don't have enough space/light for roses, I got myself some succulents. They'll probably come to work with me so the cat doesn't eat them
