J’apprends à voir. Je ne sais pas pourquoi, tout pénètre en moi plus profondément, et ne demeure pas où, jusqu’ici, cela prenait toujours fin. J’ai un intérieur que j’ignorais. Tout y va désormais. Je ne sais pas ce qui s’y passe. Aujourd’hui, en écrivant une lettre, j’ai été frappé du fait que je ne suis ici que depuis trois semaines. Trois semaines, ailleurs, à la campagne par exemple, cela semblait un jour, ici ce sont des années. Du reste je ne veux plus écrire de lettres. À quoi bon dire à quelqu’un que je change ? Si je change, je ne suis plus celui que j’étais, et je suis autre que je n’étais, il est évident que je n’ai plus de relations. Et je ne peux pourtant pas écrire à des étrangers, à des gens qui ne me connaissent pas ! L’ai-je déjà dit ! J’apprends à voir. Oui, je commence. Cela va encore mal. Mais je veux employer mon temps.
