INVITED // NEW “Summer Breeze” tea range from Presotea, Raine Square. Tried the following (all at 25% sweetness): Tropical Fruit Tea with Sakura jelly Strawberry Fruit Tea with lychee jelly Calamansi Lemon Tea Favourite was the tropical fruit tea with Sakura jelly. The strawberry fruit tea (Oolong tea base) was nice too and had the strongest tea flavour. It was quite sweet for me even at 25% sweetness. Calamansi Lemon tea was tangy and refreshing. The lemon slices in the tea made the drink slightly bitter due to the lemon rind (probably more pronounced because I ordered the least amount of sweetness). Eggs Bene with thick cut bacon; aud16 from the newly opened La Veen, Raine Square, Perth CBD. The bread was sweet and brioche-like, nice hollandaise sauce and crispy bacon. Pity one of the poached eggs was overcooked while the other was undercooked. HUNTER & BARREL // 2-course Friday lunch special aud35 from the newly opened Hunter & Barrel Raine Square, Perth CBD. Lunch special menu on last pic and full menu on @perthfoodmenu For entrée, we shared the Crispy chicken wings (six pieces) with Buffalo and ranch sauce. Enjoyed the wings! For mains, we picked the Hunter’s Pie of the Day (Beef & Ale) & Eye of Rump 200g (cooked medium) with in house basting, creamy mushroom sauce (extra aud3) and thick cut chips. The highlight was the pie and chips. The puff pastry of the pie was crispy while the beef and ale filling was flavoursome and generous. LOVE the hand-cut chips - the outside was crispy yet the inside of the chips were so fine and soft. Good batch of potatoes. The steak was a tad overcooked in my opinion. For desserts, we chose the apple skillet pie with orange syrup and Fior Di Latte ice cream. SO GOOD. What a way to end this unexpectedly good lunch. Will be back. P.S A glass of house wine, beer or soft drink is included along with the two course lunch special too. We chose red wine and it was a pretty strong red wine - wasn’t too dry which was easier to drink for me (Disclaimer: no wine connoisseur). Invited // Fried cheese balls with caramelised onion and chipotle jam; aud9 from Greenhorns at the newly refurbished Raine Square food court. Full menu on @perthfoodmenu Check out the moment the fried cheese ball was gently torn apart by Leen from @leenthefoodie , revealing the cheesy goodness within. 10/10 hand-modelling! Deep-fried breaded crispy exterior and gooey cheese within - this was like scotch eggs but with cheese instead of eggs inside. Caramelised onion and chipotle jam made me feel less guilty about the sinfulness of this side dish (oh who am I kidding - not really that guilty at all 😇).
