woke up late again at 10-11ish :\

caught up my teammate on everything I have done so far for the ml project

set up my notion to track marginal gains lol I really hate notion idk why I do this to myself. maybe it will be different this time?

reviewed operating systems for about 1.5h. btw maybe I should put it out in the universe: I am preparing for GATE examinations so I can pursue M.Tech. in data science / aiml :)

woke up at 9:30am :\

immediately got working on my summer ml project. today I explored and analysed the dataset. beginner stuff and reallyy fun

then I had lunch & went to the movies with my bff and her mum ❤️

at night, I uploaded my weekly progress report

I have been so upset lately. My heart just feels heavy. I also haven't been able to study at all since summer vacations started. Hopefully I can get some momentum going with this studyblr. I know learning makes me happy like nothing else.

here a close up of my report for my Logistic Regression model!! for those not versed in the language, it says FUCK YOU :D!!!! (basically you taking a random guess ≈ the work I put in for the last 3-4 weeks lol)

with no more quick tricks up my sleeve, I am going back to the basics (im not happy bout it ;-;)

at least I didn't cry at the results. just sipped my awful drink (I forgot how awful it was 😔) & acknowledged what I am doing is serious stuff. there's some character development :') also the plan is to read through the notebook of a similar project and analyse the data again. maybe that will get me somewhere...?

made a feature correlation heat map. thankfully nothing's too related and I don't have to drop any features :')

wrote this week's progress report

now I can finallyyy move on to model training!! I have been feeling so awful. this project is a good distraction but it can only help so much 🥲 I am praying this sinking feeling goes away

• last night I watched heidi priebe's video on tolerating discomfort. it was a great shift in perspective (as always. she is Brilliant!)

• worked on my ml project from afternoon till 8pm. I did chi-square test, mode imputation, probabilistic imputation and train test split. I don't fully understand the concepts yet but it is still progress

does anyone have resources for data science & machine learning? I am a complete beginner and the resources I find are either completely theory or only syntax & code. I would love something with both but please feel free to suggest any nice guides you know of (even if it has only one of the 2)

finished the remaining half of dbms prestudying (not super happy with it, will circle back later)

worked on my ml project ;-; no real progress here tbh

I am so unhappy about the accuracy score lol I keep reminding myself it's my first ML project. it is just meant to teach me stuff not be Super Amazing. at least I get to take a ML course this semester!! I will learn more theory and apply everything on a new project!!! & possibly try to forget this one ever existed :') also read up a few blog posts of students who have self studied for gate examinations. I got so discouraged when I couldn't solve pyqs but I will try again after I am done with prestudying

reflect on the process & figure out what needs to improve

prestudying is just me getting familiar with the syllabus and hypothesising the bigger picture without getting into any details. last night I reflected on what I could have done better last semester and one of the things was prestudying before the semester started. so here I am with my plan to do all the prestudying in the next 3-5 days. today I'm just focusing on two 5 credit courses. will update how it went in the evening.
