Quarantine treated me with this movie after 4 years of its release (that, and because I got hooked with the Rift Apart hype), and I'm on my way to kick asteroid with this one.
Disclaimer: I don't think this would be the kind of video that would contain this kind of disclaimer, but I do want to say please do not harass or witch-hunt Insomniac Games, Rainmaker Entertainment, or anyone/anything that's mentioned in this video! This video is made to give some people some insight about the game series and film, and for entertainment/educational purposes. Despite my constructive criticism, I don't necessarily hate this film; so if any of you are going to attack me for being a "hater", then that's your problem and not mine. Also, this video was suppose to be posted on my original channel but due to the fact my password got changed and can't get any access to it I really need this video out asap; my apologies for posting it late, and there happens to be some points I missed and would spread confusion. If you have any feedback to share or want to start a discussion, please be constructive, civil, and respectful; I'll do my hardest in responding your comments!

Gosh, I made this two years ago for a reboot zine I became overwhelmed by and never finished.
Princess Bula is the best.
Like, if we’re being real, a continuation of ReBoot as we all knew it was never likely to happen after the show’s cancellation. Not while the rights to the show still belong[ed] to Rainmaker Entertainment.
(I mean, from 2001 onward no one ever demonstrated a real interest in allowing the show to finish the plot thread it dangled in the hopes of a renewal, or an added movie. It’s kind’ve amazing so many ReBoot fansites in the mid-to-early aughts managed to survive on the hope that a proper revival would happen.)
Rainmaker Entertainment made it pretty clear over the years that they didn’t want to pick up where Gavin Blair and co. left their audience with “Crouching Binome, Hidden Virus” --- what with their repeated attempts to retool the franchise into something else to begin with. Only difference was, then, they seemed to take the negative reactions seriously, and just didn’t move forward with the production. In the here and now, they’re content to ignore it and do their own thing.
(And if the Guardian Code writer/creator’s thinly veiled and weirdly misplaced resentment of the fanbase wasn’t apparent before, it certainly is now. He’s really mad people don’t like his show and say so.)
It was kind’ve surreal to see Gavin Blair on twitter using the #NotMyReBoot hastag about the Guardian Code trailer, but that drove the message home for me. None of the creatives (save one writer from S2, and Beast Wars) that were involved with the production of the original ReBoot had anything to do with Rainmaker’s use of the IP for their pseudo Power Rangers show.
I’m not terribly surprised that the train wreck that was the Guardian Code turned out like it did. It’s a lot like TRON Legacy in that sense. It got design by committee’ed right down the abysmal writing team (only, as much I don’t like TRON Legacy, I can’t ever say that movie had a salty binch with a bone to pick with an old fanbase (pushing 30+) driving the production.)
I hate that I was right, though.
The Canadian animation firm has exited the Sly Cooper movie after the financial failure of its Ratchet & Clank flick.
