i’m s o A Nn oYED i watched. the episode and im so gR U MPY

okay okay okay so it was a good episode cause I love Maze!! And she really hasn’t been in the show much aside from like in passing. 

I’ve had an issue with the Maze / Linda / Amenadiel crap since it started. Like at first I thought it made sense for her to be upset because they were running around behind her back, but then it’s just gotten out of hand and turned kinda weird?? Like I don’t understand why she’s so bent out of shape when it comes to Amenadiel because she hasn’t shown any kind of affection toward him for ages and that’s the only reason it seems like she would be angry. Yet if she was only angry about them sneaking around, then you’d think Linda apologizing and breaking up with Amenadiel would make up for it, but it didn’t so I’m a little pissed about that.

The thing is maybe if they had threaded the whole thing across the entire season then I feel like it would have made sense, but it feels kind of superficial and rushed. They haven’t really done much of anything with Lucifer and Maze’s relationship for a while--like they barely talk-- annd then we get this (honestly great) scene where he’s saying he can’t lose her. And I mean I love that--because my idea of their relationship is that they’re immortal, their relationship is literally forever (HE HAS KNOWN HER SINCE HIS FALL THAT’S AGES GET OUT OF HERE SHE’S HIS FAVORITE DEMON). The humans will die but they will still be there--like i love it as a platonic relationship where they just GET each other, even if it seems like Lucifer doesn’t sometimes (me @ writers: stop). 

So the fact that she would feel like he’s putting Chloe first (A woman who will die in the blink of an eye to being who have lived as long as them) really boggles my fucking mind. BUt ug H It was such a GOOD SCENE cause Lesley NAILED IT and I thought it was great but gOD it doesn’t work when you’ve BARELY SET UP THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO IN THE FIRST PLACE. like we have more god damn interaction between almost everyone else!! Lucifer and Amenadiel have talked more about shit then Maze and Lucifer have I feel!!

And then the whole shit with Chloe ??? like “you’re a good friend!!” like SINCE WHEN. AND WHERE? You guys spoke like ONCE. which was so funny cause she’s like “you’re a great babysitter to trixie!!” and im like lmao this is...so bad. chloe pls. 

POINT IS i would have understood this whole plot line better if they had tried to use Maze more than just as like an aside for when they needed her to do something. Like literally “nobody puts me first” yeah neither do the writers which is why this bullshit is happening in the first place.

IDK I JUST FEEL LIKE HER WHOLE CHAARACTER DEVELOPMENT GOT SHOVED BACK SO MUCH FOR NO REASON. she literally has that moment with Charlotte where she’s like rejecting Hell and that was earlier this season!! 

YO AND DONT GET ME STARTED ABOUT CHLOE WITH THE NECKLACE i’m gonna just. that’s not about maze but. seriously?? IT WAS A BIRTHDAY GIFT. and shes like “you shouldn’t have to deal with this” wh  AT. yOUR BEST FRIEND GIVES YOU A GIFT, YOU WEAR IT AND YOU’RE GONNA GIVE IT UP CAUSE YOUR NEW BF IS JEALOUS. get the fuck outta here.

hi im gonna complain about that episode under the cut have fun if you read it

i loved everything with ella so we good there. also lucifer threatening her brother so that ella won’t lose faith in her family. i fucking loved that, because their friendship is some of my favorite. and then i loved that he was so sad about her being upset. “SAY IT, you were right and i was wrong!” “Wha--Miss Lopez :(” 

MAZE AND ELLA. ugh i can’t love Maze anymore than I love her?? 

but aside from that. and him telling chloe she did a good job. aw. also his hang up on her calling him cheap fjlsifjse

there was a lot i liked in regard to that part of the episode. 

but then came that side plot / season plot with cain and lucifer and amenadiel. 

“Your research was watching the Davinci Code??”: Because you know ‘knowledge/learning’ isn’t COOL, it’s NERDY so Lucifer has to be the uh ‘idiot playboy’. Even though, he’s actually a 28487842448752484 year old archangel that should PROBABLY know about a lot more things than Cain anyway but aside from that--doesn’t he have a ton of books in his penthouse or was that just me ?? either way could we just stop making Lucifer be an “idiot”. Like it’s funny when he’s being ridiculous just around regular humans but you’d think there’d be waaay more texts or something that only angels would know or --idunno! but something that isn’t known to humans!

“Amenadiel is the favorite son and therefore apparently gets chosen to do everything” Are there really no other angels? Fun fact, Amenadiel is only in this because of the comics and even in the comics he’s like...nothing from what i know. But aside from that, Amenadiel isn’t even an archangel. Like where are the other archangels that usually were doing God’s will? Michael ? Raphael ? Gabriel ? --Uriel died but he was apparently not ‘important’ enough but w/e fine ok. You’d think maybe it’d have been Michael considering he’s the other side of judgment but I guess I’m expecting too much out of this.

Cain deserves to walk the earth for all eternity because he killed his brother !! ...At this point I’m like 95% sure humans are doing way worse shit than just killing their brother and you don’t see them being forced to walk around for all eternity. Like damn, i think he gets it. Did the first of every other offense get forced to be damned for all eternity?

Does Cain really think he’s going to get ‘Peace’ when he dies? Like why does he think he’s not just going to Hell and having the same exact thing happen? I don’t understand what’s the point of this, where does he think he’s going.

So does Amenadiel have super strength or what, I thought he was just human now.

“Luci, working with Cain is bad!!” I mean if you didn’t notice, Lucifer is um. Kind of the Devil ?? He already pissed off God once, I don’t see why he wouldn’t try again?? He was forced to be the King of Hell for all eternity, his Devil Face looks like some kind of burn victim. God already damned him, i dont see what more he’s gonna do except maybe like smite him out of existence or throw him back into Hell for a while again. Shut up Amenadiel. 

Why does everyone think Lucifer is like. Nobody? Can someone actually be fucking afraid of him for once, I know I aid this already. But again. Everyone just brushing him off. Listen, just cause he can’t kill you doesn’t mean he can’t do worse. I hate that this show makes him seem like he’s literally All Talk. Like please, gimme a break bye.

Got someone talking about how you're wrong actually about the fact that Luke would totally try to murder his nephew Because Luke would definitely attempts to kill a family member if they presented a threat to people he loves..

Because he did it against Vad.er in R.OTJ. -- this is a paraphrase and not how this person said it but I'm not gonna link their post cause I'm not trying to @ them or anything u know.

And I need to rant because that has to be the worst read of a scene that I have ever had to see. We literally see the fallout of Luke willing to kill Vad.er in that moment as being the thing that is going to drive him to the dark side. It is a moment that he immediately pulls back from when Palp.a.tine starts laughing. Because he sees that he's going overkill on his father who at that point in time has already lost. He's lost he's about to die if Luke continues.

So let's say that we take the sequel trilogy movie and state that the Ben scene is another weak point for Luke. I could totally be on the side of that if and this is a big if if the scene had shown me there was any actual evidence that this child, this teenager, was at any point actively about to cause hurt anyone.

At this point we are to assume that Luke has been a Je.di for the last like 15 years. He is creating his own order, he is the head of his own order. So that means that we would assume that he is actually even more in control of himself than he would have been in RO.TJ. I do not care how much you think that part of the film was in character, because it wasn't. Not because I don't think it can happen, but because of the way that it happened it doesn't make any sense. At the point in which Luke considers killing his nephew, Ben is not doing anything, he is sleeping. That is not just a moment of weakness, It's also cowardice. It's also stating that Luke and his moments of weakness was thinking of killing his nephew in his sleep Because he was afraid of the possibility of this child becoming like his father.

The father that he went out of his way to try and save despite the fact that this man was a genocidal murderer. He had been a si.th for more than 20 years at that point, he was literally everyone's worst nightmare. He did not care about the fact that he was everyone's worth nightmare In fact he relished in it. And Luke comes out of the woodworks and says I'm going to drag the tiniest bit of his goodness and make sure that I hold on to it. And you're going to tell me that you think that it is in character that Luke would have a moment of weakness So egregious that he would stand over his nephew with a ligh.tsa.ber and consider killing him in the night while he's asleep while there's no threat All because of the possibility that there is a intense darkness in him even though Luke tried to drag it out of V.ad.er and succeeded.

Like I need to point that out he succeeded in dragging it out of V.ad.er.

Therefore the scene in the sequel trilogy and the reasoning for everything that occurs, is 100% a mischaracterization Not because I don't think that he couldn't have that moment of weakness but because the setup doesn't make any sense. I'm not out here saying that Luke is a character without fault, because he needs to be to be interesting. I think that there is totally a point at which he can have this moment of weakness, but In this point all it does is come off as being Oh hey I am here to make your character seem like an asshole. You think you know who this character is, actually he tried to murder his teenage nephew and that's why his teenage nephew turn to the d.ark si.de.

I could be misremembering some stuff cause I refuse to watch that film again but no. You can like the movie you can think his characterization is correct all you want but you shan't ever convince me.

You’re not wrong really. Anakin would sacrifice everybody to save Padme, that’s WHY he turned on the Jedi for Palps. But I also feel like Anakin didn’t know about O66, so he didn’t know that she would be in danger. That’s why he sent his BEST with her to Mandalore.

I always have a hard time with his reasoning tbh. Anakin does say it’s all about Padmé. And it is in part-- because Anakin has problems with death and abandonment. And the Jedi aren’t giving him the answers he wants-- but that’s the other problem. He wants the answers they cannot give him, that even Palpatine cannot give him or guarantee him. Hell, maybe...

Palpatine tells him that he can gain the power to defeat death. WHAT IF, because of this, his idea is-- well if I can defeat death, it doesn’t matter who dies right now. It doesn’t matter who I kill because I can make it right again. 

But i mean his turn to the Dark Side is also wrapped up in years of pent-up anger toward the Jedi Order and their teachings. The resentment that’s built up. He doesn’t really agree with the Republic, thinks the bureaucracy is messy and doesn’t work as well as it should. 

I also don’t buy that he didn’t know about Order 66 at all. We see Anakin kneel before Palpatine and become Darth Vader, but obviously within that time, Palpatine had to have told him his plans considering now Anakin is going to be acting as his General, his second-in-command. So he had to have told him about Order 66, that’s why he’s leading the siege on the Temple. 

...But idk at Anakin’s core, I feel like he’s THAT PERSON that if you put two people in front of him who he cared about, he wouldn’t be able to choose one over the other dying. I feel like he’d also want to guarantee Ahsoka’s safety, because she has nothing to do with the rest of the Jedi.

And once again after thinking on it for years, it hinges on Ahsoka’s existence. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve come to like her as a character after all this time, despite not watching the series. I’ve learned enough about her and Anakin’s friendship and her as a character that I think she ends up working out....

my problem with this, however, is that: if Ahsoka exists, Anakin would know that joining Palpatine and the Execution of Order 66 would put her directly in harm’s way. And I can rationalize his severe and sudden hatred of Obi-Wan; he’s basically worked himself up over the idea that Obi-Wan is trying to take Padme from him.

Not only that, but Obi-Wan represents the “perfect model jedi” and that’s an even bigger issue. And obviouslt Palpatine has manipulated him, has put ideas in his head, has basically needled him enough when Anakin is down and focused on all of his weak points... 

But Ahsoka is outside of all that. She’s outside of the Order, she’s outside of his anger at the Order, she has done literally nothing wrong and he obviously cares about her a lot to the point that he’s been thinking about her ever since she left, otherwise he wouldn’t still have her lightsabers. 

Obviously Anakin is focused on Padmé. He’s focused on the fact that she’s going to die and he needs the power to save her, and everyone else that he possible can. He needs to show the order that they’re all wrong and he was the most powerful against all of them, some kind of fucked up retribution for their pride. 

I’m having a massively hard time imagining Anakin leaving to save the Chancellor and five days later (rots takes place within the span of FIVE DAYS), decides yeah i mean who gives a fuck if Ahsoka dies so long as Padmé does, even though she’s one of my favorite people outside of Padmé. 

...feel free to give me some insight on this cause, remember, raive does not actually watch tcw. i just read things here and there. im just. trying to wrap my brain around... anakin being so caught up in this idea of power and saving padmé that he would then say the life of his former padawan is worthless.

...so apparently i made plans last night with my mom and my brother--which i forgot about right. we were all together last night and i guess i mentioned that we were gonna hang out or whatever. i didn’t remember. completely slipped my mind sometime between last night adn waking up this morning. all i remembered was that i was supposed to go to target. but then it was raining out so i was like nevermind i dont wanna go anywhere screw it. i’ll stay home i guess.

thing is, i was thinking about it and i mentioned a few times ‘hey you guys coming by tomorrow’ BUT NO ONE FUCKING SAID YES. it was just kinda like yeah sure maybe. but no one gave time, no one said yeah we’ll be here by 2 or 3 or whatever. instead i was like ‘hey do you wanna go with me to target’ and that was toward my BROTHER and he goes ‘yeah sure maybe’ and i mentioned it again later that night and he was like ‘oh yeah you can bring my pins (souvenirs i got from disney) cause i left them’ and im like okay. but. that was all on whether or not i went to target--and i didn’t. like i’m honestly sorry i forgot but there’s no reason for them to be chewing me out and acting like im fucked up when you can ask.

my mom called me 3-4 different times. THREE TO FOUR TIMES. she talked about how she was gooing to the bank, she talked to me about comic con tickets, she talked to me about EVERYTHING ELSE, but she never once bothered to say ‘hey you’re coming by today right??’ and so i completely fucking forgot. which you know what, people are allowed to forget shit. i shouldn’t have to be arguing with someone over that. but she tells me ‘you know something you’re fucked up’ and im like ?????? ‘you were supposed to come by today’ and im like well shit i forgot sorry. and she just went off on me as if it’s a fucking crime that i forgot. and not only is it a crime, but apparently no one knows how to verify EARLY whether or not i was supposed to head over. SHE NEVER ASKED ME IF I WAS COMING BY  she just...called me to complain about EVERYTHING ELSE except maybe idk saying ‘hey are you coming by??’ and i would have been like ‘what’ ‘you said you were coming by today?’ ‘oh okay i’ll be there!’ but no. no one said shit. and im getting yelled at at 7pm while cooking dinner being told im fucked up because i never showed up and that im selfish and haven’t i hanged out by myself enough and i should maybe put myself into her shoes.

SHE WAS GOING TO FUCKING BANK. here i am thinking she had shit to do not that she was waiting for me to come by. not once did anyone mention it and they’re all fucking ganging up at me IN THE EVENING because no one knows how to confirm. literally ALL OF MY FRIENDS ASK ‘hey are we still on for the day?’ or i ask ‘hey are we going out today?’ and guess what. i get an answer. but apparently that’s not possible for family. family expects you to be telepathic. getting fucking chewed out for plans in which i was gonna go over there to their house to do fucking nothing anyway. my mom comes out like ‘oh you’re fucked up cause i wanted to do something today’ then go do it?? with my brother?? who is with you??  but beside that, i wanna go into a rant as to why this is...honestly the least original movie in the entire series and everyone keeps praising it :// literall do not look at this if you havent seen it bcause it’s just a giant spoiler post.

Guess what guys, almost every single piece of this movie is a rehashed scene from literally ALL THE PREVIOUS MOVIES. And I do also mean from the Prequel Trilogy! Crazy right?

The original scenes were mostly in Finn, Poe and Rose, and a few scenes between Rey and Luke. But the rest of it was literally just mixed up scenes from the OT and the PT.

Kylo Ren is literally, 100% Anakin Skywalker. From a young age Anakin was being manipulated by Palpatine, right? He watched his progress from a child to his teenage years and increased his influence over time so that Anakin eventually was repeating exact words from him because he trusted him so much (”I should be more powerful than any Jedi”). 

Ben was literally manipulated through the Force by Snoke since he was young, and turns on his mentor and kills everyone aside from a handful of other apprentices.

That’s literally Anakin taking the lead of his troop of Clone Troopers and destroying the Jedi Temple--his ‘handful of apprentices’ was technically the entire Clone army. Ben destroys the fledgling Jedi Order and forces Luke to hide out on some deserted planet where he becomes an Obi-Wan Hermit, with less reason to do so. Ri ght!

So Ben’s entire story is literally Anakin’s story. You know with better acting (sorry christensen, i still love you). But that’s about all I can give kudos for because I didn’t feel like watching the Alternate Universe Anakin Skywalker-becomes-Emperor-Palpatine fanfic.

Snoke is Palpatine, but without the charisma or any character substance. He’s hardly a character at all and apparently took lessons from Palpatine in diction and what not, but I’ll get to that in a minute. 

The scenes between Luke and Rey on Ahch-To were mostly original stuff, because you can’t uh, remake Yoda teaching Luke, but to be fair it was basically the same thing there too-- Yoda at first saying no I won’t train you, Luke does the same exact thing except apparently he’s ‘afraid of Rey’s natural Force power that he also has and shouldn’t even be worried about since he literally has so much force power he can ASTRAL PROJECT HIMSELF across fucking PLANETS’. 

So I guess that’s not all that original either, my bad.

Rey’s search for her parents is Luke’s search for his father, but that wouldn’t have bothered me so much if we hadn’t had so much build up only for Kylo to give that bullshit about her being a nobody, but anyway!

Rey literally tells Luke the won’t fail you, line. “Ben failed You. But I won’t.” okay.

Rey jumps into that dark force pit, and has one of those crazy force visions, and sees herself in a mirror while trying to find out about her parents. Luke walks into that swampy area in Dagobah and sees himself after a brief fight with the fake Darth Vader. SAME SCENE.

Rey tells Luke she’s going to go save Ben. Luke tells her no don’t go, like Yoda and Ben when Luke went to go save his friends on Bespin. Then Luke has a chat with Yoda that’s literally almost the same kind of chat Yoda has with Obi-Wan after Luke leaves (don’t get me wrong I liked this scene, but it was basically the same thing).

Rey goes on to Snoke’s destroyer and we HAVE THE LITERALLY SAME EXACT CHAT LUKE AND VADER HAVE IN ROTJ. down to the fucking letter. The scene in the throne room is LITERALLY THE SAME TOO, Snoke even says ALL OF PALPATINE’S LINES WHAT THE FUCK. he shows her the resistance being demolished. She gets tortured after trying to resist him, and then Kylo kills him, just like ROTJ. 

nice fight scene though, guys, can’t enjoy it because you literally just re-did several scenes right there.

And then we have Kylo turning to Rey and saying JOIN ME, AND WE CAN RULE THE GALAXY AND FATHER AND SON.

The old base is what. on a planet similar to Hoth so we have a weird not-Hoth battle in a not-Hoth base that looks like the same base? Then they all escape while the fighting is going on kind of like how everyone escaped on that Hoth base, huh.

 Luke about to face Kylo and his opening line is literally Obi-wan’s “I have failed you, Anakin, I have failed you.” 

The only uh, original scenes  that were part of the Rey story line in the entire movie were between Rey and Kylo and they were such boring scenes? Not only that they were just ugh because he’s manipulating her the whole time. 

Luke’s ‘fight’ with Kylo was neat. His death was pretty but utterly stupid.

of course i mentioned nothing about Poe, Finn and Rose because they literally held the only original content in the entire film, and even then their plan was pretty much the infiltration plan in RotJ, except on a star destroyer instead of a planet/Endor. And they failed so that was interesting. 

I don’t see where this is going anymore. I thought I did, but they messed everything up so amazingly in this movie that I can’t figure out what they plan on doing in the third one. Kylo is hardly the strong villain that these movies needed. Rey has no further mentor because apparently she can learn all she needed to know from just bickering with Luke. idk. 

What planets do these people rule over anyway? What’s their center? Who do they have as subjects, I don’t see it, and I don’t believe that there’s anything other than this weird fight between two ‘armies’ and everyone else is just kind of watching like ‘lol whats going on over there’. 

save rey, finn, poe, rose and everyone else from this mess.

I wanna go and rant about why tlj can get trashed when it comes to the luke/rey/kylo story line.

First of all: I don’t believe, and can’t believe, in any way shape or form that Luke would attempt to kill Ben. We did not spend Luke’s entire arc dealing with how much he wanted to help and redeem his father, just for him to GIVE UP on Ben before he even did anything at all. Now, we still didn’t get the entire story: not from Luke and not from Kylo. All I know is that Leia told Luke that Snoke was manipulating him and making him turn to the dark side. And you know what? That’s fine--but I don’t believe for five seconds that Luke would go into his tent or whatever and actually ignite his light saber. Not to mention--if Luke could astral project himself from one planet to another fucking planet, why would he need to go all the way to Ben’s tent to find out what was going on in his head in the first place?? 

But aside from that weirdness--let’s get back to Luke’s initial reaction to finding out his father’s Darth Vader back in the OT. He’s devastated yeah, but he accepts it. And not only does he accept it, EIGHT MONTHS LATER he decides that instead of GIVING UP on this man who has done horrible awful things, and has been a sith for TWENTY FOUR YEARS at this point, Luke says ‘yeah I think I can save him!’ ... But? I’m supposed to believe that instead of doing EVERYTHING he could to HELP and SUPPORT Ben, he would instead give up? No. This is a kid he would have known his entire life. If he could hold out so much hope for his FATHER a man he didn’t even get to know--why wouldn’t he then hold out hope for his nephew who he HELPED RAISE. 

There had to be a more intense reason as to why Luke left Leia and Han to go hide on a deserted Jedi temple planet. There’s no way in hell that he left, and ABANDONED LEIA his TWIN SISTER who he LOVES MORE THAN ANYTHING to deal with EVERYTHING on her own. I understand that the deaths and betrayal of his students would have been devastating, but his entire ideology on Ahch-to seems to suggest he literally has forgotten everything he was taught and believed in and I just don’t buy that. I don’t buy it at all, I don’t see the characterization following through. 

As far as I’m concerned, it seemed like he just ran at the first sign of something being difficult and that’s just not Luke. He would have wanted to rectify his mistake, if he thought it was one, not just immediately abandon ship.
