After seeing that documentary called Wild Wild Country a few years ago, the Rajneeshi's sound very colonialist in their mindset when they talk about the locals of the town they moved into, Wasco County. It sounds odd given the group compositions. The Rajneeshi's are this weird cult offshoot of Hinduism, and the townspeople of Wasco County are rural white folk. Yet the Rajneeshi's were downright oppressive towards the townspeople of Wasco County and used every dirty trick in the book to drive them out. It's only good that the people of Wasco County received justice. Anyway, the way some of the Rajneeshi members justified what they did was that it was enlightened, and they were bringing culture to these backwards people. I guess you could call it colonialism in a way. It's an interesting microcosm of colonialism.
