So everyone has been doing these NEKnominations, where I guess you show off your drinking skills or something and one of the teachers at my old school decided that it would be cooler and safer to do RAKnominations (random act of kindness). I've just watched two students in this years grad class go downtown (in my hometown) and go to three different groups of homeless people (between 2-5 person groups) and ask them if they needed anything, they then went and bought all of them a warm drink and meal AND bought them what they asked for. They bought Jackets and burgers for one couple, socks, shoes, and gloves for another group, and a sleeping bag for another guy. The girl that was in the video doing this even went out of her way to buy an extra sweater for on of the women living on the street, who didn't ask for it. This warms my heart, legitimately these kids who in normal circumstances would be freaking out about grad dresses and tuxedos were out sharing their kindness with the world and it just makes me smile. I wish my grad class had done this. This is a much better way to spend our time than showing off our "drinking skills" and putting our lives in danger.
