General IDD Flag

Hi hello, I after making my IDDgender and Borderline Intellectual Disability flag. Decided to make a general IDD flag for my community.

The 1st four stripes represent the severity labels

First Stripe - Profound Intellectual Disability

Second - Severe Intellectual Disability

Third - Moderate Intellectual Disability

Fourth - Mild Intellectual Disability

Fifth, the Middle Stripe - Represents borderline intellectual disability, but as well others included under IDDs.

Sixth - Represents individuality within our community and the IDD experience.

Seventh - Represents expression, fellowship, and community!

Eighth - Represents passion, power, and action

Ninth - Represents health, how our considerations should be taken and acknowledged by those around us. As we too, deserve a voice in our wants and needs.

IDDgender - "A gender influenced and affected by one's IDD (Intellectual Development Disorder / Intellectual Disablity). An identity exclusive to those with IDDs."

Note - Flag can be interpreted as however wanted. Made by a person with BID (Borderline Intellectual Disability). Also 1st time ever coining anything.

Colors & their meanings

White - The Community & Unity

Burnt Sienna - Passion

Yellow - Diversity & Creativity

Gray - The border, the in-between

Purple - Independence (How independence 4 people who have BID looks different from those not intellectually disabled)

Dark Purple - The emotions we experience

Plum - Hope

Black - Those who have died due to BID & those who went by unnoticed in their disability
