ANOTHER AU THAT I HAVE NO TIME FOR: FallingStars

Remember this concept art way back?

I'm going to yap a little about this Bill's backstory.

When he was born, his special eye was seen as more of a blessing than an abnormality. To the point where Bill was hosted as some sort of profit- a god.

According to prophecy, he was to bring the stars to Euclida. And he had every intention to live up to everyone's expectations.

But it didn't work out.

Bill failed as a god and as a son. This event was already devastating him, but things just got worse from here.

See, in this AU, this entire dimension is actively dying. Anything that could go wrong, does.

Time Baby is a geriatric skeletal old man. There is no law and order. There is no chaos. Every world is either actively withering away or is already just gone.

Bill never had a chance to become a problem.

You want to vandalize that bar? It hasn't been open in centuries, but go for it. You want to destroy that planet? Solar flares beat you to it, but have fun.

Bill still collects 'henchmaniacs' but he collects them while acting as a 'God' as that's all he knows. His followers follow him - because what else is there to do?

But none of it mattered. No matter what Bill did -every living thing he comes across dies somehow. He was a god of a dying reality.

Eventually, he comes across Earth... alone at this point in the story.

And Earth seems like a paradise at first. Only at first. Infinite energy, and fantastic technology- but riddled with ever evolving plagues and crippling solar flares that threaten mass extinctions.

Bill finds and becomes Ford's Muse in this world. He encourages him to build a portal to escape from their dying reality.

Stanford isn't as optimistic as Bill. How can he? His brother died years ago, organs harvested for the black market. The remainder of his family has long passed for various reasons. There is no Shermie. There will never be another set of twins.

He doesn't see the point of trying to save humanity or himself.

But he loves this Bill. Worships him.

So he makes the very sane decision to build a doomsday device instead of a portal. And he attempts to take out Bill with him.

Bill survives this —like he somehow survives everything else.

But no Ford. No humans. Nobody left.

Fortunately, reality decays enough for him to slip out into another one. (Or something like that)

Absolutely disillusioned and with the most pessimistic worldview, he ends up somehow adopting Anti-Mabel. Or she adopts him. Hard to tell.

...If you can't tell, this AU is insanely busy and could easily be cut up into 2-3 different storylines on their own. And I don't have the time for any of them.

Can I rant for a bit about how cool it is that one of Lief's defining traits is that he's smart? Like, not even necessarily cunning or clever or street smart (though he's totally that too) but just. Book smart. He knows maths and history and english and he uses that knowledge for stuff! And! He's also cunning and clever and street smart and a fighter at the same time!

And I know it's not that big a deal, but normally in adventure stories, especially for a younger audience, the hero's strengths are more in sword fighting or magic casting or being really good at parkour. And here the hero is smart and he's proud of it, and his friends are proud of it, and the world is proud of it! Literally! Deltora Quest as a world and a plot revolves around puzzles and riddles and putting clues together more than it does on physical fights. In almost every battle they get into, the day is won not by being better at fighting than their opponents, but because they realised the loophole or figured out some vital info in the nick of time. (And I say almost every battle, because Jasmine is both willing and able to stab a bitch.)

The Topaz that clears and strengthens the mind is probably the most used Gem in the whole series, because Lief knows its value so well. And even when he can't rely on its strength, when the moon is new or the Belt is covered, he's still using his brains to find his way out of impossible situations! It's just! So cool!

Brain over brawn and all that, except not really, 'cause he's also a badass with the sword! Wtf! Lief why are you so cool??

Deltora is probs my fav series. I am OBSESSED with the characters and worldbuilding, but the codes and riddles and puzzles? That is my jam you guys. I studied those things. Every time a new one came up, I memorised it! I tried recreating it! It was awesome! And the Lief + Jasmine combo of "Basically-A-Nerd Who Is Awesome" and "Badass Fleshed-Out Women My Beloved" who are besties before love-interests was a pinnacle of my childhood.

Fun fact! Taurus Bulba is my favourite villain :)

I will forever be sad that we were robbed of seeing him in action for a third time, cause in 'The Steerminator' he essentially tells Darkwing that this isn't the last they'll see of him-BUT IT WASSSSS >:(

I would have loved to see a final showdown before the show ended. I know the show doesn't really follow a specific narrative BUTTTTTTTT (Short rambling)

The show tends to take itself more seriously whenever he's on screen, even taking darkwings leg injuries as an example, they wanted to make Bulba a genuine threat, which we don't often see with anything in the show. Not to mention Bulba himself is the only villain Dw is worried about, both for his sake and Gosalyn's. (I just think it's cool that even a show as unserious as Darkwing Duck has times when they do take it seriously and somewhat follow a story.)

There has been other cases where other villians do a number on Darkwing, taking the episode 'Duck Blind' into consideration, Megavolt blinded him and that actually lasted throughout the episode, but Darkwing never saw him as a threat. Towards the end he didn't seem particularly worried about sending Gosalyn and Launchpad off in attempts to seek him out. That would never happen if Bulba was involved.

I jumpscared myself when in the dark room i turned too quickly and saw something huge run behind me.

It was my ponytail. I forgot i have a ponytail and got scared of when i briefly saw it as i turned.

while I am enjoying the freedom that comes from not being owned or in a real kink relationship, I do terribly miss the connection and affirmation/fun/joy that comes with constant attachment to a Master or Mistress and being utterly submissive to one person... It just takes so much time to find the right person and establish a relationship and work on boundaries and form a true bond and... sigh. there's just not enough time in life anymore... but I do miss it very much...

I feel as if people drift too far to either side of the portrayal of Hera and Zeus' marriage. On one hand, you have an over-the-top abusive relationship or a harmonious couple who perfectly understand each other. I feel like that's what is hard for me to conceptualize. I know they fall somewhere between black and the white, but it's hard to be able to understand exactly which shade of grey their relationship is. Even if I do come to an understanding im comfortable with, there will always be people on both sides of the spectrum who will disagree. My indecisiveness will probably understand and agree with either side's option, if they provide relatively good reasons, leaving me even more confused.
