Do you think the Erikssons will move to Göteborg?

Oh, great question! Hmm. I’m going to think as I type here so bear with me!

I actually think Linda might reconsider the move at first, but it will depend on what happens next.

Because, as we’ve seen with Harry and Meghan, just because you’re not officially a royal anymore, it doesn’t stop the press intrusion and the safety threats. For as long as her son is dating ex-royalty ( I really hope they stay together because I do believe first loves can last. Side note: my siblings are both married to their first ever partners. So, it happens!), there will be a security issue. I don’t know if the security team that Wilhelm asked for will be able to continue protecting the Erikssons now that Wilhelm has stepped down. Will Jan-Olaf & co allow that provision to still exist? I doubt it, given it took a rock being thrown through the window for it to even occur to anyone that they might need protection in the first place!

Of course, the reporters and haters might just go away. In which case, Linda might decide to stay put. I don’t think that will happen though. I think the press will stick around, so I think she’ll get fed up and decide to make the move after all.

And I kind of want Linda to meet someone lovely if they do move. A really nice man who will eat that dish she keeps trying to feed Simon and Sara. That one they never eat (if anyone reading this knows what it’s called, please put me out of my misery because I’m so forgetful!)

I don't know if you're planning on bringing back the Flash fic challenges but if you do, I have a suggestion:

Every month or so, get people to send in word prompts and then you can random pick one of them for each challenge?

That's a fun idea

But honestly, I kinda gave up on them. Kinda giving up on a lot of fun stuff due to lack of interaction. Believe me, I'm thrilled to see my regular lovies (like yourself) hanging out with me, but i feel like that puts a lot of pressure on the few that do.

Idk. This place has gotten very disheartening and when 0.08% (yes i did the math) of your followers interact/show up/read/hang out... Kinda makes me not want to spend my little free time making fun things for here. Ya know?

Sad but that's the truth. I used to host writing challenges monthly, drabbles every single night, 3-5 full fics every week, I set up card games, skype nights, video chats, etc.

No one seems to want the fun anymore

I think they’ll still keep her around as the sitcom archnemesis. One of my biggest problems with Totally Spies is that it doesn’t too anything substantial to change the formula- the much derided Season 6 is proof of that.

Anywho I take it you're talking about Mandy?

They do. I forget what season I dropped off at when bingeing old episodes to watch the new seasons I hadn't known were real and it is strangely more of the same despite them being in college.

Except they doubled down on a couple of things from what I remember which was:

Jerry being a douche and trying to impose fees and expenses on them out of nowhere when he has the 3 of them, whom are top agents, working for him for free plus unspecified "perks" since they were MINORS and without parental consent on top of that. (The girls managed to wiggle their way out of it tho but they shouldn't have had to)

Mandy is a bigger pain in the butt and is marketing herself as a undefined brand, basically an influencer and is somehow more popular in college than she was in high school which makes that future timeline of a Mandy dictatorship likely to happen on a different route.

They decided to give us another Mandy in the form of her cousin. Mindy. (It's awful how similar they are) But almost cute how genuinely close they seem to be...except they're both still awful ppl.

And I remember feeling like some of the missions they have are repeats from old episodes.

And there seems to be no maturity that sticks.

I have to ask, why do you think the Tangle/Whisper hints were more apparent than the Staregg hints? To me they seemed roughly the same degree of shippiness, but I'm curious about what you think

I think it's because Starline eventually grows to become disillusioned with Eggman and starts hating and loathing him instead, and what Flynn has said about how the way he originally planned to introduce Starline into the comic was forced to change during preproduction leads me to believe Simp Starline was never intended. So any gay over tones were basically an accident. Flynn always intended to have the endpoint of Starlines character be that he's the superior villain over Eggman and wants to prove he's oh so much better than him, and any writing of subservient Starline was functionally only there to build up to the relationship falling apart with Starline as the aggrieved party. Being gay for Eggman is not a part of who Starline is, it was just a means to an end to get him where he needed to be for the story. The fact Starline is flamboyant and posh makes him come off as gay, but those are just traits that are traditionally used in queer coded characters and flamer stereotypes. It doesn't come off as intentional with Flynn going "yes, gay duckbill boi" the way he is confirmed as having done for Tangle and Whisper moments.

Now toxic gay relationships are certainly allowed in fiction. The fact media is still in a stage where it feels it needs to portray all gay relationships as positive and wholesome for the couple is kinda iffy in and of itself, when in reality gay couples can be just as dysfunctional and abusive as straight couples. But the fact that Whisper and Tangle are mutually supportive and loving of one another and Starline and Eggman have a dysfunctional relationship just makes it come off even more like the overtones are unintentional. Do you really think Ian Flynn of all people is going to be the one who decided to break new ground by portraying a toxic abusive gay relationship in a Sonic the hedgehog comic? Even the movie portrays Jimbotnik and Agent Stone in a positive light.

There's also the fact that Archie has Sally/Nicole but no gay dudes. I'm half judging IDW based on the pattern of what's come before as much as what it did in itself.

Not the anon who asked if you were like him, but do you think there’s anyone at all like Freddie in queen fandom, or is he just too unique 💙

Hm, the simple answer is that obviously, everyone is unique, so I don't think it's possible to find a perfect match.

Also, I only know (most) other Queen fans in this fannish context (online, centered on/around queen). And even those I met in real life, I can't compare to Freddie directly, because I haven't met him. So I guess I'd have to imagine what Freddie would be like if I met him as a Hendrix-stan on tumblr, then compare that to other fans 😄

(As an aside: I think that is one thing me and other fans have in common with him - his unabashed fannishness when it comes to his idols. Think of his nervousness when meeting Montserrat, or how he went to see one Hendrix concert after the other.)

I can think of some people who seem to have a couple of more traits in common with him than me, but it would feel weird to name them here. I think this works much better if people rate themselves, to be honest!

Top Five Movies and Why

I’m doing this from pre-teen me’s perspective. These were some of my favorites as a childInterview with the vampire - Reading this series and watching this movie changed my entire outlook on life at the time [granted I was only 10?]. I became interested in Art, theater, poetry, sexuality, sarcasm, wit, music, history, language, culture, folklore, and Ancient civilizations. It made me question and critic religion, human existence, ethics, and morality. Star Wars- The outfits amazed me. The story was invigorating and fresh. There was love, drama, humor, and fuck you han solo get out of my dreams. The ceremony scene - Leia’s dress was too bomb too. Dang ya know I love the empire strikes back and a new hope but the finality and feeling of accomplishment at the end of Jedi was so bitter sweet. I like that it wasn’t all happy because luke and leia are deeply troubled over their father and the life they will live from there on. It felt genuine the relief and sadness.The last of the Mohicans  -I have a very skewed perception of this movie because the last time I watched it I must have been 12. I just remember crying at every beautiful shot, tears streaming because i’m an emotional mess even that young and jfc everything moved me. The thick forest woods, the sacrifice of a dying people, the music and how each note just made everything that much more tragic. It was empowering. The scene where she just gives into death and falls off the cliff- I thought/ still think about that so much. The tone and shock of it.Gladiator - There are not tears enough. Fffuuuccckk Joaquin pheonix did such a great job at playing Commodus and being an absolute villian. The end scene with the wheat fields and sepia tones and max's hand touching the tips as he returns home. Gone with the wind 10 year old me was obsessed with this and the sequel [scarlett] I’d sit all 6 hours and soak up every single snide remark and dramatic overture. The costumes, the music, the morality and destitute. Scarlett was a heroin and as vile and conniving as she was, she was empowering and strong, yet foolish and ridiculous and so brutally human.
