i hate when people try and play trauma olympics with niigo, like??? seriously??? just because there isnt like a constant blaring neon sign in every story saying "SHE WANTS TO KILL HERSELF!!!" doesnt mean that those feelings they talk about in the literal base story stopped existing.

the road to getting better is super bumpy with tons of highs and lows, and the journey isnt the same for every person. saying that ena and kanade dont actually want to disappear because they havent been shown in situations that you deem as bad as the ones that mafuyu and mizuki have been in is, in my opinion, stupid as fuck.

each member of niigo is a separate character in a separate situation. accordingly, they deal with those issues differently. kanade copes by forcing herself into creating more music and ena posts selfies online for attention. yes, their coping mechanisms might be considered a little more effective short-term than mafuyus and mizukis, (or mafuyu and mizukis apparent lack of effective coping mechanisms 😭) but that doesn't mean they arent still struggling with their mental health alongside the other members of niigo.

i dont really have a point to this post, but like?? if several people are drowning but some of them are in shallower water, those people arent not fucking drowning, they would still die if they continue to drown. people saying that some of niigo arent struggling because they arent as 'extreme' in their reactions to their issues makes me feel crazy, esp when niigo came together based on the fact that they were all suffering

one thing i love in batman fics is when authors change their names in their internal dialogue between bruce/batman and then any of the robin's names and robin. it's so tasty <3333

reading a lot of batfam fics lately and seeing the range of knowledge the authors have about living while extremely poor (jason todd) is. interesting . to say the least

i love sakura-centric naruto fics, and then as a subset i love fics that rewrite the whole story that are focused on her, but one thing that always bugs me is when they give her an outfit change and give her boots and make her talk about how irrational the sandals are bc like?? those are the uniform regulation sandals that the entire village wears??

the hokage wears those. every teacher of hers wears those. all of her classmates and all of her fellow shinobi wear those. there are modifications ofc but like. lets be so real, of all the things in her outfit (WHICH ISNT EVEN THAT BAD. BTW.), are the sandals really the thing to make her have an "ohh it was so obvious, why have i ever been wearing these?" moment over??

like i think the boots are also cool, but why are we hating on the sandals and calling them irrational to wear 😭? even the anbu wear the sandals!!

reading this pjo reading the book fic and this line really got me (its a past read the future thing)

bc like. thalia never really got a chance to take care of her brother, while bianca never really got a chance to do anything but take care of her brother :(
