RAHHH I DIDNT THINK ID HAVE THE TIME TO DO AN ENTRY but i DID!!
First! Marigoldpaw
my darling sweet babygirl... I wanted to see how marigold i could make her before it felt like too much and honestly? i was shocked how much i could get away with. I pulled quite a bit from her extended family for traits because... why not honestly? Her base color is pulled from Sunnystep bc the sprite was so similar to it and it brought them closer in my mind lol
In my mind she got the marigold from Pigment, who made a little like. hair tie of the flower because her hair was LONNGGG
speaking of...Pigment!
the boy! Idk why but i saw Pigment and went. that cat needs to be chunky. so i tried to balance chunky cat with feral cat and this was the result. I gave him a couple little ear notches to allude to his busy past but really he's just a silly artistic lil guy!
Bonus, me going mildly insane putting the visuals of the family together for trait ideas:
Design entries for @ranchclan's contest! This is actually my first ever Tumblr post, so I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing, but I fell in love with these guys and just had to give it a shot lol.
More information under the cut!
Marigoldpaw's colors are in-betweens of those on her sprite and those on her parents. I tried giving her traits from both Coldstep and Pumpkinleaf as well as a general flowery motif.
Since she was noted to be protective, I imagine the little scar on her nose came from some goofy kithood accident, like trying to defend a denmate or a littermate from a big scary bug and getting stung or bit on the face. Something along those lines haha
The accessory behind her ear was intended to be a marigold, but it's pretty vague and is mostly just there for a splash of color. It doesn't really matter towards anything.
Pigment!!! I had the idea to have him be a hairless cat immediately, and from there I thought, 'what if his scarf was a sweater?' and I think it turned out cute.
I tried to make his markings look kinda paint-splashy, the markings on his knees and face are meant to resemble those art palette things, and the lil ends on his bandana are shaped like paintbrushes. Also, on that note, his patterns are all symmetrical except for his face.
In my head I've been envisioning him to be a v artistic and creative soul. He has a unique perspective on the world and can find beauty in almost anything. As a wandering loner, his sweater and bandana are both things he picked up from different kittypet friends over the course of his travels. He's a silly quirky guy!
That's about all, I believe? These got a bit complicated, so if either of em win then obv feel free to simplify - but this was very fun to work on either way!!
