perhaps my brain is simply hardwired to make everything gay, but hr's business partner on earth 19 being named randolf morgan and seemingly being a male counterpart to earth 1 and 2 wells' wife tess morgan cannot be a heterosexual coincidence, correct

And Iris West's professor has decided it'll make a great lesson in investigative journalism for her students.

“You were magnificent outthere today,” HR pulled down Randolf’s mouth warmer to pepper kisses tohis jaw. “My magnificent speedster.”

Randolf grumbled, “Snart andRory got away…”

“They do that sometimes,quite often in fact!” HR smooched him again, looking at him with bright,blue eyes. “Doesn’t mean your efforts are for naught.  What about that lady today and her children?  They certainly hold you in fond regard!”

“One family saved from a firethat killed a slew of others…”

“Hey…” HR cupped hischeeks. “It’s just you out there, and just me to help you.  They’ll be missteps and mistakes and eventragedies we can’t prevent, but there will also be triumphs.  You make Central City a better place to liveevery day!  People fill with hopewhenever they see that purple trail.  Itlets them know you’re out there, and that you’re willing to help.  That’s more than one can say about somepeople, metahuman or otherwise…”

Randolf perked up, then frownedagain, “Am I really the hero Central deserves though?”

“No…”

Randolf frowned deeper.

“You’re the hero Centralneeds,” HR held him. “Nobody deserves such a selfless, thoughtfulperson in their life, yet you’re doing your best to help as many lives aspossible anyway.”

“Everyone deserves someonekind in their life,” Randolf clung to HR.

“Not your quality of kind, mymagnificent man.”

“Well, you do at least!”

“Me? A charlatan?”

“I asked you to be the faceof my company.”

“You were doing just finewithout me.”

“I’d probably save peoplejust fine without you too, but I do it much better with you.”

“Oh, I wouldn’t saythat…”

“I would, and I am!  You let me know I’m actually making adifference out there, that I’m not alone, that what I’m doing means somethingto someone.”

HR teared up, touched.  He held him tighter.  They stayed like that for several minutesbefore HR asked if he was ready to go home for the night.  Randolf nodded and scooped him, sweeping himto bed speedster-style.

And maybe I'm off the mark entirely.  But I'm willing to take that risk.  Because I'm not auditioning for the post you've advertised for, but the one you haven't.  STAR Labs sounds like, in its current state, it's getting by on the revenue from patent licensing, old inventions, and stocks.  That's not going to last forever.  Additionally, a building of that size, which is supposed to be empty, having as much activity as a super hero squad attracts is going to start getting noticed.  But running some kind of business - be it restarting the labs or creating a museum dedicated to understanding the meta-hominids who protect the city as well as the ones who threaten it... that could offer your team both a much needed cover for your activities as well as bringing in a fresh revenue stream.

And for a project like that, I'm your Wells.
