Was in the bus today and had a thought (tm)

Lots of people don't seem to realise that a disability is an inherently negative thing, but people with disabilities can still live fulfilling lives. I think this is because people can't separate disabled people from their disability. Just my 2 cents, feel free if corrections are needed

I think one of the best things I've ever learned about interacting with people is that empathy is just relating. You don't have to try to come up with solutions. You just have to understand. I used to panic when people came to me with problems and thought that it meant that I had to give advice. People just want someone to care. If they don't ask for it then you walk the fine line between sympathy and empathy. Sympathy doesn't help connection, it pushes people away. I hope I can be better to people, - Kyle DeVaugn
