prompt: “Are those space pants? Because that ass is out of this world!“
Craig was a lover of bad and cheesy pick up lines. He had hundreds stocked up in the back of his for mind for any occasion and it was one of his favourite activities to waltz up to someone at a club or a bar and slide in a new pick up line just to see how they reacted.
He wasn’t one to focus on his soulmark, loving to flirt and have his fun with whoever he thought was cute and up for a chat. Whether he got rolled eyes or interested winks, he had fun anyway, and sometimes got a number written down on the back of his hand. It wasn’t often he’d go on dates though and when he did, it never came to a second one. Sometimes they were hook ups, sometimes he just made a friend.
It was a surprise to him to run into his soulmate in a bar, simply because of a bad pick up line. He had sat himself up on an empty stool at the bar, back to the counter and elbow rested on the wood. The girl sipping her cocktail turned to him, not reacting to his charming smile.
“Hey girrrl,” he greeted, wiggling his eyebrows at her and smiling wider as she snorted in amusement. “Are those space pants?” he asked. “Because that ass is out of this world!” His smile was wide in waiting for her reaction as she blinked her long lashes slowly.
“You’re kidding,” she said, before someone grunted from behind him.
“If you really think that’s gonna work, you must be a fucking idiot,” were the words that followed, drawing Craig’s attention to the bar patron on the other side of him.
“Holy fuck,” he whispered, meeting bright blue eyes who watched with a sparkle of amusement. The man was tall and handsome, eyes dazzling when matched with the knowing smirk on his face. “You’re my-” he trailed off, the woman beside him forgotten as she watched the exchange.
“Soulmate,” the man finished for him, shifting to offer his hand in greeting. “Tyler,” he introduced when Craig numbly shook it.
He blinked, not believing it was true until his eyes landed on his messy handwriting scrawled across Tyler’s arm. The pick up line he’d just posed to the girl behind him tattooed to the tan skin, the same way the insult Tyler had used to get his attention was tattooed across his rib-cage.
“Can we- Can we go-”
“My place,” Tyler said, dropping some cash on the counter for his drink and standing. Craig scrambled to his feet, throwing an apologetic glance to the girl still sitting there sipping her drink and smirking.
“Have fun, boys,” she said, wiggling her fingers as Craig giggled. An arm slid around his waist and he didn’t protest as he was pulled close to Tyler’s side. The heat beside him was comforting and exciting and he felt electricity burn through his nerves.
Tyler flashed a grin at the woman, nodding at the bartender. “Oh, we will,” he said, flushing Craig’s face pink as he was pulled towards the exist. He glanced up at his hot soulmate, meeting his eyes with excitement.
“So… are you busy tonight? Or do you have time to add me onto your to-do list?” he asked, catching the broad smile as it formed.
Tyler rolled his eyes, but grinned all the same. “I guess I can try fit you in,” he murmured, pressing his lips to Craig’s warm temple. Craig couldn’t wait to get back to his place and see just how busy Tyler was.
